Nicholas K Spring 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

I've been seeing a lot of white on the runway for Spring 2014, starting with Nicholas K, who took us on a spiritual, shamanistic journey that is embraced by the brand's own nomadic urban roots. Along with white, antler and bone-colored cotton trimmed with deerskin are symbols of peace, happiness and purity while black, midnight and onyx is reminiscent of smudging smoke. Turquoise, the "fallen sky stone," acts as the accent color in the collection.

The looks consist of free flowing fabrics and a mix of textures, including matte gauze and shimmering lurex. My favorite looks include leather jackets layered over lightweight fabrics, which are appealing for the petite frame.

The show featured hair by Jon Reyman for Aveda, make-up by Daniel Martin for NYX Cosmetics and nails by Sunshine Outing for Zoya.
