Nordstrom Beauty is bringing their sought after Beauty Trend Event to your local Nordstrom!

Every New York Fashion Week, Nordstrom goes backstage to assess the biggest beauty trends and then brings this intel direct to their customers. For the Spring 2019 season, they've identified trends such as:

Guests can learn how to achieve the freshest runway-inspired looks of the season and get free samples and exclusive gifts with your purchases (while supplies last). Receive one-on-one time with Nordstrom beauty experts, tips tricks to nail the newest trends and receive beauty buzz intel from industry insiders — and it's free to attend!

Customers (you) can simply RSVP online or ask for special accommodations by calling or stopping by their favorite cosmetics or skincare counter, located within Nordstrom.

Winter Style with Adidas Outdoors and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH

The Adidas Outdoors Climawarm Nuvic Jacket is just the long down jacket I was looking for. I was surprised at how lightweight this jacket is, yet how warm it is on. It's made with climawarm® technology, which keeps you warm and comfortable in cold weather. It's also easily packable to take on trips. 

The jacket has a hood, side zip pickets and a zip pocket on the left sleeve, great for stashing a metro or credit card and cash. The overlapping baffle design provides enhanced insulation. The water-resistant down still maintains warmth even when the jacket is wet. There are even heat seal inserts on the neck and cuffs to keep warm air inside.

I'm amazed at how well the XS fit. Other long down jackets I have tried either had an oversized fit or the sleeves were too long. This down jacket has a tailored fit, and since it stays insulated and warm, there's no need to wear clothing in layers with this jacket.

The sale is back for the second time ever! Expect long lines to get into the sale the first day as well as to pay! Grab what you can because shoppers will be loading everything into their basket, and Diptyque and Tata Harper always seem the first to go! 

My advice is to wait for discounts unless there are really items that you must have! Note that there is different pricing per brand and per product, and listed alphabetically. Price lists are listed as a range but may have a more itemized price list in the brand section. Note that pricing is UP TO 70% off, not all 70% off, so there are definitely some deals that are better than others. The best deals were definitely Lipstick Queen lip products for $3, and Kevyn Aucoin lip products for $5 (lipsticks were marked down to $2 during the last two days of the Kevyn Aucoin sale, but there are lipsticks and glosses that were not available at the sale last week). There were also great deals on FOREO devices, as well as NuFACE devices for $100 (regularly $325). The Space NK gift sets for $30 will definitely sell out quickly.

VU Hair Salon at The Peninsula New York

I recently had my first visit to VU Hair salon, at the Peninsula Hotel in New York, for a quick styling session. I had been on a plane all day, so my hair went from incredibly flat to beautifully styled in a matter of minutes thanks to Danny! As tired as I was from my flight, I felt a million times better with the voluminous curls in my hair. I was amazed at how full and shiny my hair looked, and that was just from a dry styling session! 

I also met with the VU Hair team, including salon owner Vu Nguyen, and Amy Mrkulic, who just joined the VU Hair team. I would love to visit VU Hair again for a color / cut and drastically change my hair color for spring! The salon also offers makeup and nail services, with Zorina Czora as Makeup Artist/Bridal Specialist. 

VU Hair also has the most amazing penthouse view of the city to enjoy while you get your hair styled!

BENNOV | SUPIN | Videmus Omnia at The Nolcha Shows Fall/Winter 2019

Videmus Omnia

The Nolcha Shows Fall/Winter 2019 showcased designers Shiyuan Li of BENNOV, SUPIN and Yun Qu of Videmus Omnia on February 10th at Union West Events during New York Fashion Week

BENNOV focused on a black and white palette in cashmere with sequin, fringe and feather detailing. SUPIN kept it simple with shiny silver jackets, t-shirts and athleisure pants. 

Videums Omnia stole the show with a haute couture / avant-garde collection that combines art aesthetics of 14th-16th centuries renaissance, 19th century impressionism, and mid-1980s grunge music. My favorite look from this show was the cropped top and asymmetric ruffle skirt. The show also included a two tone jacket with fringe and draped mesh with pearl detailing, impressionist mini silk ruffle dress, oversized ruffle bomber jacket paired with a mini romanticism dress, and a textured silver crop top and mini skirt. There were also a few deconstructed deconstructed looks. 

As sponsors of The Nolcha Shows, luxury and beauty sleep brand, NIGHT, partnered with InstaSleep to promote self-care and restorative sleep tips during New York Fashion Week.
