Amundsen Sports NYC Pop Up Shop

Norwegian performance brand Amundsen Sports, known for there heritage-inspired apparel and footwear is hosting a pop up in NYC through the end of this year at the Westerlind store, located at 29 Spring Street.

At the pop up opening, I met with industrial designer Jorgen Amundsen, who co-founded Amundsen Sports in 2009 with Norwegian explorer and skier Erik Friis. Jorgen is a relative of Roald Amundsen, who set out to explore the South Pole in 1911, and lived with the Inuits to study their knowledge of cold weather survival and also explored cutting edge technology.

Amundsen Sports is best known for the technical knickerbocker, combining traditional ski wear with modern materials and functionality. Amundsen Sports is focused on building a sustainable, contemporary wardrobe, using natural materials such as wool, corduroy and cotton.

Winter Style with Adidas Outdoors and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH

The Adidas Outdoors Climawarm Nuvic Jacket is just the long down jacket I was looking for. I was surprised at how lightweight this jacket is, yet how warm it is on. It's made with climawarm® technology, which keeps you warm and comfortable in cold weather. It's also easily packable to take on trips.

The jacket has a hood, side zip pickets and a zip pocket on the left sleeve, great for stashing a metro or credit card and cash. The overlapping baffle design provides enhanced insulation. The water-resistant down still maintains warmth even when the jacket is wet. There are even heat seal inserts on the neck and cuffs to keep warm air inside.

I'm amazed at how well the XS fit. Other long down jackets I have tried either had an oversized fit or the sleeves were too long. This down jacket has a tailored fit, and since it stays insulated and warm, there's no need to wear clothing in layers with this jacket.

This puffer jacket was the perfect outer layer to pair with a super comfy Pure Navy Plaid Curved-Hem Shirtdress in Black White and Ava & Aiden Jord Metallic Bow Detail Pumps in Gold both from Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth, and Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

Adidas Outdoor Fall/Winter Outerwear and Footwear Must-Haves

Here are my top five Adidas Outdoor picks from women's jackets to shoes, designed to keep you warm, cozy and comfortable this Fall/Winter season.

W Varilite Hybrid jacket has down insulation in its core and knit sleeves for easy movement.

W Climaheat Jacket - This jacket is lightweight and packable, making it great for travel. I usually travel with two coats, and the packable option comes in handy when trying to fit everything in your carry-on. The Climaheat keeps you super warm and dry in cold weather.

W CW Nuvic Jacket - This cozy down jacket is perfect when you are looking for a longer silhouette, and need extra warmth thanks to the climawarm®.

Terrex Agravic GTX W Trail Running Shoe - these shoes are just as functional as they are fashionable. This shoe is built with responsive boost™ cushioning and a waterproof GORE-TEX®. The textile and mesh upper has abrasion-resistant welding for added durability and a grippy Continental™ Rubber outsole to keep you from slipping even when it's raining.

Terrex Choleah Padded CP Winter Sports Shoe - This shoe was designed for everyday winter wear. The climaproof® protection keeps your feet dry while PrimaLoft® insulation provides maximum warmth in cold weather. A high-traction rubber outsole maximizes footing on wet and dry surfaces.

American Eagle Outfitters / Aerie Post-Holiday Sales

The holiday collection at American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie is always my favorite of seasons to shop. I often find myself shopping for gifts online and in-store (and for me) before the holidays and then right after Christmas for the end-of-the-year sales / clearance. This holiday season's selection is so good, I have products in my cart as I'm blogging about this.

Some things that I have already picked up this season include the dark grey pom-tastic snood and matching beanie, both with removable poms, cozy fleece jumper, and plush joggers which I have in both charcoal and dark heather. I also plan on getting some necklaces, a velvet cami, mesh crop top, boyshorts (available online only), and extra poms so I can switch out the colors on my snood and beanie. The Aerie pieces are so plush and cozy, you'll want to wear loungewear all winter long.

Aside from what I'm getting, this season you'll also find camo, plaid, tunic hoodies, sweatshirts, velvet pajamas and pom throw blankets on sale. The most impressive selection to me is the denim, as I get all my jeans at American Eagle as the fit and distressed detailing is above quality. The fit is consistent, and I love how they have a short length available so I don't have to get my jeans hemmed.

The Atelier & Repairs x AE pieces aren't on sale but you'll definitely want to check out these denim jackets, overshirts, skirts and jeans. These special pieces are made with repurposed American Eagle fabric and clothing, with distressed rips and repairs. They are personalized and finished by hand with one-of-a-kind treatments, making them unique.
