Texas de Brazil’s “Taste of Brazil”

On January 23rd, Texas de Brazil held a "Taste of Brazil" event fashioned after a Brazilian "comida de boteco." Guests enjoyed beer, wine, signature capirinhas, and delicious appetizers at the Brazilian steakhouse located at 1011 Third Ave, between 60th and 61st Streets. The menu, curated by Texas de Brazil's Culinary Director Evandro Caregnato, featured bolinho de bacalhau (cod fish fritters), pastel de camarao (shrimp empanadas), torresmo com farofa (pork belly with yucca flour) and calabreza acebolado (chorizo with onions).

Texas de Brazil blends together the unique culture of Brazil with the generous hospitality of Texas. The fine dining, all-you-can-eat experience features 16 various cuts of meat including beef, lamb, pork, chicken and sausage carved tableside by the restaurant's gauchos, a fresh gourmet salad area featuring more than 50 fresh and delicious items including imported cheeses, charcuterie, Brazilian black beans, roasted vegetables, and an award-winning wine list, and decadent desserts. Guests use red and green cards to indicate when they'd like to sample cuts of meat, and when they need a moment to enjoy their feast.

Texas de Brazil operates domestic and international locations, including Aruba, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad. For more information on Texas de Brazil, visit texasdebrazil.com.

Syfy's 12 Monkeys is inspired by the classic blockbuster movie. If you love shows that revolve around time travel, then you'll love Syfy's 12 Monkeys!

You can watch all-new episodes of Syfy's 12 Monkeys on Fridays at 9/8c. Learn more about the new Syfy series at syfy.com/12monkeys

'By 2043, a virus has wiped out most of the world's population. One time traveler, Cole, must journey to 2015 to stop the virus from ever happening'.

Natalie Chaidez discusses time travel in Syfy's 12 Monkeys.

Terry Matalas talks about time travel and other shows that have inspired it.

Inside the C. Wonder 75% Off Store Closing Sale

So tonight I stopped by the C. Wonder's Soho Flagship, which will be the last store to close in a few weeks. There was plenty of stock left, from clothes and shoes to monogram cheese boards and candles. I can't believe it has been 3 years since I attended the grand opening at Columbus Circle. It's sad to see C. Wonder go, but at the same time I'm not surprised. Have I ever actually shopped at C. Wonder and purchased something? I would have to say no, until now.

The one item I have always loved that they carry are the monogram lacquer jewelry boxes, and at 75% off they go from $78 to $19.50. I now have four of these boxes, in black, white, orange and cerulean blue. There are plenty left throughout the Soho store in various initials, and just a few left in pink and navy. I just wish they had been available in 'W'. I had gotten the cerulean blue one at cwonder.com and the white one on shopbop.com, both at 50% off. You might find C.Wonder items on shopbop.com that are no longer available at cwonder.com or at the store, but items are still priced at 50% off, not 75%. At shopbop.com I was lucky enough to also snag the Buffalo Check Tea for One for $24.00.

I also picked up the Buffalo Check Wool Zip Top Pouch in Grey/Black, for $14.50 (marked down from $58).

Fixtures and displays were also going pretty quickly. I got a few gold bins for $10 each, and a gold tray for $15. I would have liked to get some of the jewelry fixtures but some were just too heavy to bother.

If you plan on getting some of the sweaters, note that several of them at cwonder.com are marked down, plus an additional 75% off, whereas in store it's just 75% off the full price. I was disappointed with the quality of the clothing in person, so no sweaters for me.

If you do shop at cwonder.com, be sure to sign up to receive their emails (even though the site is shutting down at the end of the month) to get an additional 20% off code sent to you.

Since I never actually made it to the C. Wonder sample sale, I was happy to make it to the store and shop online. This sale so reminded me of the highly discounted Target x Neiman Marcus holiday collaboration. There are still some items from that collection I wish I could have gotten! Don't have any shopping regrets! Get to the C. Wonder sale before it's gone for good!

2015 Beauty Favorites

It's a brand new year with plenty of beauty products to focus on! Here's a look at some of my favorites I'm starting the year off with.

IT Cosmetics CC + Radiance Palette ($38) comes with a color correcting brightening powder, matte blush and matte bronzer, infused with anti-aging ingredients. It's also great for travel, instead of having to pack separate brightening powders, blushes or bronzers.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Lip Serum Hydrating Anti-Aging Color Correcting Crème Gloss ($24) is a product I have been using for almost a year now and can't get enough of. It acts as a lip gloss without feeling sticky. The more you use it, the better it is for you, as it's packed with anti-aging ingredients - clinically proven collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, plus 9 essential butters and oils for an amazing lip treatment.

Hello breath spray is a great breath refresher to keep in your bag or at the office. It's available in supermint, mojito mint and pink grapefruit mint.

Whish Flawless Swipes ($7, 8pk / $22, 30pk) post wax & shave serum banishes the appearance of bumps and ingrown hairs. You can use it on your entire body or just spot treat affected areas. It Exfoliates & cleanses with willow bark extract and papaya extract, restores & smoothes with yeast extract and rose hip extract and calms & smoothes with organic aloe and organic cucumber extract.

Zoya Entice Collection Sampler ($54) contains six amazing colors to get you through the winter season - Nyssa, Claire, Veronica, Margo, Ryan and Genevieve. I love accenting these colors with the Zoya Ignite Collection Sampler ($54).

Mineral Fusion Limitless Beauty Cream ($19.99) is an all-in-one cream with nourishing coconut oil. This can be used to moisturize lips, tame browns, nourish cracked heels, soften cuticles restore dry elbows or use as a hand cream or super-rich night cream. It's also great to use before applying makeup, on the apples of the cheeks or under eyes to create a dewy glow, mix with powder cosmetics to create cream shadows and blushes or use as a luminizer.

Rituals Hammam Delight ($15) gel to foam shower gel is energizing and revitalizing with Refreshing Eucalyptus and Rosemary.

Winter Skincare Regimen Featuring Immunocologie

Happy 2015! It's a new year, and another winter season, when my skin is most sensitive to the bitter cold temps. My skin gets drier and dehydrated and my lips start to chap and get flaky. I make sure I change up my skincare routine before this starts to happen, and stick with my new regimen all winter long. From season to season I've tried dozens of moisturizers and serums and I've finally settled on the perfect winter skin remedy: Immunocologie.

I've been using Immunocologie since the beginning of November, and my skin has managed to stay moisturized and hydrated thus far. For my datime/nightime routine, I apply Immunocologie's Cleansing Lotion, Vital Ionic Mist, Face Serum, Super 7 Elixir Face, and Intense Eye Creme

The Cleansing Lotion ($65) opens pores and cleanses effectively to remove impurities on the surface of the skin, activating blood circulation and microcirculation. The cleansing lotion is formulated to balance the skin's natural PH and protect against the elements, pollution and free-radicals.

The Vital Ionic Mist ($65) contains 15 minerals (with a negative ionic charge) essential to optimal skin cell performance and restoring the skin's ionic balance. It reduces the positive ion and free-radical activity that cause cellular degeneration on all layers of the skin.

The Face Serum ($300) is a highly concentrated, ultra-hydrating nutrient rich essential oil formula. This strong emollient, combined with Vital Oligo Complex and supported by the Balanites Roxburghii Seed Oil, increases epidermal lipid recovery and brings essential vitamins and nutrients to the skin. These nutrients, including omega fatty acids, vitamins A and C preserve moisture in the skin, fight free-radicals and stimulate collagen production leading to increased elasticity.

Super 7 Elixir Face ($325) is the most nutrient-rich firming and nourishing serum, containing snail mucin, which enhances the functional ability of fibroblasts, immediately tightening the skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps to repair damaged tissues, restore skin health, and increase firmness and radiance.

The Intense Eye Creme ($175) increases blood flow and eliminates toxins around the orbital eye area. This eye creme is packed with anti-oxidants and minerals, eliminating puffiness, dark circles and toxins.

With all the Immunocologie products I am using, a little goes a long way, especially with my favorite product in the line, is the Face Serum, which I only use a few drops of for my face. Usually in the winter I get dry, flaky skin around my nose and the corners of my mouth crack, but so far that hasn't really been an issue since I've been using Immunocologie. I had tried using my Immunocologie skincare towards the end of the summer and decided it was too heavy for my combination skin, especially to use the products all together, but it is perfect for my skin for the fall/winter months. Using the entire line together makes it feel like a morning/night facial ritual, in which my skin feels rejuvenate, refreshed and revived.

Immunocologie also offers a Vital Winter Set ($800) comprised of Hyaluronic Serum, Face Serum and Day Protection. This set is focused on skin hydration and moisture, especially when it comes to colder climates for the winter season.
