Reem Acra stunned the audience at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York with strong pieces in a palette of black and white with accents of red.
Yes, the beaded pieces she is know for, came down the runway accompanied
with pieces that were dominantly modern with accents of leather, goat hair,
fur, fishnet, tulle, beading, wool and tweed. Sheathes, long column
dresses, kimono-like coats, capes and full tulle dresses were all shown at
the celebrity-packed show. Inspired by a recent trip to Japan and
photographs by artist Daido Moriyama, the looks were modern, strong and feminine.
