bareMinerals Skincare Launch

bareMinerals Skincare just launched on March 3rd! I recently got a sneak peak during a special blogger preview at Tzigan Lounge at Villa Pacri.

Every formula in the bareMinerals Skincare line is powered by 100% pure RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex, which results in products that are clinically proven to deliver increased cell turnover, noticeably smaller pores, increased luminosity and fewer fine lines and wrinkles. I learned that the minerals in RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex have a greater antioxidant capacity than a pomegranate or blueberry.

The bareMinerals Skincare line includes eight products that are paraben free, sulfate free and do not contain any synthetic fragrances or artificial oils:

  • Purifying Facial Cleanser, $20
  • Deep Cleansing Foam, $20 - starts off as a cleanser and bursts into a lathering foam
  • Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser, $26 - powder cleanser (previously known as Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser) that you mix in the palm of your hands with water to form a light froth. This can also be used as an exfoliating mask twice a week or as a gentle exfoliating cleanser when mixed with Purifying Facial Cleanser.
  • Purely Nourishing Moisturizer, $28 - formulated for combination skin to improve skin tone and texture, providing long term hydration.
  • Purely Nourishing Cream, $28 - formulated for dry skin with a rich texture - a luxurious cream in a jar.
  • Firming Eye Treatment, $28
  • Blemish Therapy, $18 - an acne treatment in a powder form to help heal and prevent future breakouts. Comes with an anti-bacterial brush.
  • Pure Transformation Night Treatment, $60 - powder night treatment with the highest concentrated form of RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex with Vitamin C. Available in 4 shades - Clear, Light, Medium and Tan (the powder will not leave a trace on your pillow or sheets) to instantly diffuse imperfections as you look your best before going to bed. Comes with a soft, synthetic brush. Also known to reduce pore size up to 33%!

There are also Naturally Luminous Daily Duo 30-day cleanser/moisturizer kits available for combination or dry skin for $23.

I can't wait to try these new products! Especially the Pure Transformation Night Treatment! Who doesn't want to wear a product that makes you look fabulous before you go to bed?

Ever since I switched from liquid foundation to
bareMinerals MATTE SPF 15 Foundation, I am so open to trying more products in a powder form!

The bareMinerals Skincare line is now available at Bare Escentuals boutiques,
BareEscentuals.com, Sephora, Ulta and departments stores , fine spas and salons that carry Bare Escentuals products.

Spa Week Fall 2010 Media Party

Spa Week is in full swing! The Spa Week Media party had kicked off on Thursday, October 7th, at Prince George Ballroom. It's always an event I look forward to - relax, unwind, and sample great spa treatments. Here are some of the highlights. Click here for highlights from the Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party.

Always good to see Spa Chicks On-The-Go - they were introducing a new peel-and-stick nail designs by Nail Fraud. They were just applying it to one nail on each hand. You don't want to have these designs on all your nails - that would be nail design overload!

Always great to see the chocolate fountain - love dipping strawberries, pinapples and bananas in chocolate!

Alexandra did an amazing job on my Bare Escentuals makeover, especially the eye makeup! After my makeover I was given the bareMinerals Original SPF Foundation that was used on me - Golden Medium. I've been using it everyday and am surprised how well it blends in with my skin tone and how lightweight it is.

Then I got my eyebrows threaded by
Vada Spa and enjoyed a hand massage with a sweet-smelling vanilla almond lotion at Sothys.

It was then time to check in for my Dove piticure. For an at-home piticure, make sure you exfoliate with a gentle exfoliater or towelette to remove dead skin, shave toward the end of your shower to open up your pores, allowing a closer shave, and for the last step use moisturing Dove Deodorant.
Watch my interview with Dr. Debra Luftman during the Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party as she talks through piticure steps and Dove Deodorant versus other deodorants on the market.

The foot massage/reflexology I experienced at
Sphatika was my favorite treatment of the night (Thank you Shirley!). I've actually never had a foot massage/reflexology treatment before, aside from a spa pedicure. I will have to try out a full hour version of this treatment. Defintiely needed after being on the go all the time!

My last stop was a much needed massage at
Deva Spa. Eric did an incredible job of knocking out the stress from my shoulders and back! I managed not to get racoon eyes. Even though I had already gotten my makeup done, I think keeping my eyes open during my massage really did the trick. No smudging!

Thank you
Spa Week for another successful Spa Week Media Party!

Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party

The Spa Week Media party is always a much-anticipated event for me, to indulge in spa services, learn about the Spa Week sponsors and and pick up the fabulous spa week gift bag filled with amazing products, both new and familiar to me.

The
Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party was held at the Prince George Ballroom, on March 8th. I had just gotten back from CA the day before - when I made my travel arrangements, I made sure I was back in time!

I wish I could have gotten there earlier, as appointments had booked up in a flash.
Spa Chicks On-The-Go were giving hand massages and energy readings, but were completely booked. I was able to get my eyebrows waxed by Feline Day Spa. They did an incredible job shaping my brows! Next I got a scalp, shoulder and neck massage by Caudalie. Elle was my massage therapist. The treatment was so relaxing - I love the Caudalie beauty elixir that Elle sprayed on my hair and face.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to stay for the next available appointment at
Bare Escentuals, who was providing makeovers. I haven't tried it yet but the bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation is supposed to feel weightless and natural, with flawless coverage.

I had stopped by
Flame Deal Events & Catering while they were in between samplings. They did have some tasty looking sauces, including sriracha, garlic chili paste, soy sauce, citrus ponzu, sweet chili sauce and hot oil. I haven't tried it yet but I did get a jar with fresh herbs sauce.

As for sweets,
The Wedding Channel sampled mini cupcakes and let's not forget the chocolate fondue fountain on hand to dip pretzels, marshmallows, strawberries and bananas in.

My last stop was to see what
Dove Deodorant was up to. They had fully-booked appointments for "Piticures", a spa treatment for your armpits. I found the Light Radiance PitiTini (made with lemonade, sparkling water and fresh lemons absolutely refreshing and hydrating. I really enjoyed the underarm skincare tips from Dr. Debra Luftman that were spread out in the Dove lounge.

Here are a few of the tips I saw:

- Did you know that shaving reduces the top layer of skin by 20 percent? Dove Ultimate Beauty Care deodorant contains a tri-moisturizing system that soothes shaving irritation and helps replenish delicate underarm skin.

- Ladies, don't keep razors in the shower! They can become bredding grounds for bacteria and lead to shaving irritation and infection.

- Don't sweat it! Dove Deodorant delivers outstanding skincare benefits while providing 24-hour odor and wetness protection.

- Did you know that dryness and inflammation can cause uncomfortable and unslightly razor bumps and nicks? Dove Ultimate Beauty Care deodorant is the most caring invisible solid formula made by Dove.

- Dr. Luftman's Shaving Secret: Women should wait to pick up the razor until the end of their shower because prolonged exposure to warm water and steam opens pores, resulting in less irritation and best of all - a closer shave.

It has been another successful, informative and relaxing
Spa Week party. I encourage everyone to pamper themselves by indulging in at least one of their favorite spa treatments! I am definitely overdue to get a massage!
