Fashion's Night Out 2012 Recap

Fashion's Night Out, being the first day of fashion week is always exhausting for me. This Fashion's Night Out, I really wanted to avoid the crowds and hang out amongst friends at some exclusive events. Even though I had six events scheduled on my list, I ended up going to three of them.

On my way back from the Nicholas K Spring 2013 show, I visited the Maybelline Color Studio parked at 41st and Broadway from 10:30-1:30pm. A complimentary manicure or makeup touch-up was available to anyone that stopped by. I went with the makeup-touch up, including Dream Fresh BB cream. The Maybelline Color Studio was also in Union Square later that afternoon.

In preparation for FNO festivities, Style invited me to get primped and pampered with complimentary mini-manis by Spa Chicks On-The-Go, makeup touch-ups by Bobbi Brown, eyelash applications and a beauty bag filled with Style must-haves. It was nice to relax and enjoy some cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Jeannie Mai, host of Style Networks "How Do I Look?"

I could not stay away from the candy/dessert bar, complete with a take-home-box!

My last stop was at the Journelle boutique for a party and preview of the Stella McCartney Lingerie Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.

National Bridesmaid's Day Celebration and Release of BRIDESMAIDS on Movies on Demand, DVD and Blu-ray

On September 20th I attended a spa-chelorette party to celebrate National Bridesmaid's Day and the release of BRIDESMAIDS on Movies on Demand, DVD and Blu-ray. The event was held at Gary's Loft at 28 West 36th Street and was hosted by Z100's Carolina Bermudez.

Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, a candy bar buffet, special Yellow Tail winetails, tarot card reading, mini spa treatments by Spa Chicks on the Go and never-before-seen footage from BRIDESMAIDS. Guests were also able to donate their least favorite bridesmaids dress, which benefited The Glass Slipper Project.

I have to admit, I haven't seen BRIDESMAIDS yet but it's definitely at the top of my list. Everyone I know who has seen it all tell me how hilariously funny, yet raunchy it is. BRIDESMAIDS is now available on Movies on Demand, DVD and Blu-ray so be sure to add it to your watch list!

I watched an unwanted bridesmaid dress get transformed into a modern, flattering cocktail dress!

What an amazing transformation! I am so motivated to recycle a dress!

I couldn't leave without getting a massage from Spa Chicks on the Go! There were also manicures, hair and makeup treatments.

Guests had fun getting their picture taken and photoshopped onto the BRIDESMAIDS DVD cover shot.

Spa Week Fall 2010 Media Party

Spa Week is in full swing! The Spa Week Media party had kicked off on Thursday, October 7th, at Prince George Ballroom. It's always an event I look forward to - relax, unwind, and sample great spa treatments. Here are some of the highlights. Click here for highlights from the Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party.

Always good to see Spa Chicks On-The-Go - they were introducing a new peel-and-stick nail designs by Nail Fraud. They were just applying it to one nail on each hand. You don't want to have these designs on all your nails - that would be nail design overload!

Always great to see the chocolate fountain - love dipping strawberries, pinapples and bananas in chocolate!

Alexandra did an amazing job on my Bare Escentuals makeover, especially the eye makeup! After my makeover I was given the bareMinerals Original SPF Foundation that was used on me - Golden Medium. I've been using it everyday and am surprised how well it blends in with my skin tone and how lightweight it is.

Then I got my eyebrows threaded by
Vada Spa and enjoyed a hand massage with a sweet-smelling vanilla almond lotion at Sothys.

It was then time to check in for my Dove piticure. For an at-home piticure, make sure you exfoliate with a gentle exfoliater or towelette to remove dead skin, shave toward the end of your shower to open up your pores, allowing a closer shave, and for the last step use moisturing Dove Deodorant.
Watch my interview with Dr. Debra Luftman during the Spa Week Spring 2010 Media Party as she talks through piticure steps and Dove Deodorant versus other deodorants on the market.

The foot massage/reflexology I experienced at
Sphatika was my favorite treatment of the night (Thank you Shirley!). I've actually never had a foot massage/reflexology treatment before, aside from a spa pedicure. I will have to try out a full hour version of this treatment. Defintiely needed after being on the go all the time!

My last stop was a much needed massage at
Deva Spa. Eric did an incredible job of knocking out the stress from my shoulders and back! I managed not to get racoon eyes. Even though I had already gotten my makeup done, I think keeping my eyes open during my massage really did the trick. No smudging!

Thank you
Spa Week for another successful Spa Week Media Party!

Nintendo DSi Lounge - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2011

For this season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the Nintendo DSi Lounge was conveniently near Lincoln Center, at The Empire Hotel. I stopped by the lounge to relax for a bit and enjoy some beauty treatments in between shows.

It's always good to see Marie, owner and event director for Spa Chicks On-The-Go, providing massages and Minx manicures. Since I only had about an hour to spare, I got my makeup done by Temptu airbrush makeup and then got my hair curled by Rita Hazan Salon while sipping on champagne. Then I was all set to catch my next show - Tibi!

Nintendo DSi Suite During NY Fashion Week Fall 2010

Tuesday, February 16th was my last, long busy day filled with appointments and shows during fashion week. My first stop of the day was the Nintendo DSi suite at the Bryant Park Hotel. I got a sneak peek and went through a demo of the Nintendo DSi XL system from Nintendo. I currently don't have a Nintendo DSi, but was hooked after playing the new Super Mario game. I could play that game for hours on end. There are a lot of new features and games for the new system, so I hope to share all the details once they are released.

To my surprise, I was happy to see Calvin Klein Underwear's newest model / Twilight star Kellan Lutz at the suite. I also spotted AnnaLynne McCord getting several spa treatments.

I decided I had enough time to get some treatments done myself, so I first got a makeover from Temptu, who used the Temptu air brush to apply foundation. I enjoyed getting a massage from Spa Chicks On-The-Go, who were also providing manicures and pedicures and then got my hair curled by Oscar Blondi.

I hope Nintendo comes back for Spring 2011 Fashion Week! So many of the lounges and suites were held at the Bryant Park Hotel. It will be interesting to see where everyone ends up as fashion week moves to Lincoln Center next season.

Spa Week Media Party October 2009

Hand massages at Pevonia Botanica

At the Spa Week Media Party, I got to check out the latest spa week sponsors, sample spa services and gear up for the week long spa week, in which consumers can receive $50 spa treatments from participating spas. October 12th-18th marks the 11th edition of Spa Week for New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Denver Detroit, Florida, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Houston, Atlanta, San Antonio, Virginia Beach, Connecticut, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, North Carolina and Toronto, Canada. West Coast Spa Week took place on September 14th-20th, including Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas and Chicago.

During the media party I received a makeover from 2009 title sponsor jane iredale. I’ve received makeovers from jane iredale before and they never disappoint, whether I am looking for a dramatic eye for a night out or just a natural glow for the office. I was introduced to new fall colors Silver Lining eyeshadow and Hazelnut lip gloss.

I also received a massage from Elizabeth Arden red door spas, which really relaxed my neck, shoulders and back. Next I received an eyebrow shaping from Spa Chicks on the Go and then ended my night of spa services with an amazing scalp massage at Caudalie Paris. I haven’t been yet, but I will definitely have to check out the Caudalie Vinotherapie SPA at The Plaza. Feline Day Spa and Homme Spa were also on hand offering complimentary spa services.

One of my close friends is getting married in May, so I was sure to pick up some beauty stats from WeddingChannel.com that I’m sure she’ll find interesting. Pevonia Botanica is the Exclusive Skin Care Sponsor. They were offering hand massages but were all booked, so I opted for a skin care analysis and was happy to hear that I have healthy skin of a 20-year old. The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa is the Exclusive Destination Sponsor, Rioja the Exclusive Wine Sponsor and Allure Magazine the Exclusive National Media Sponsor.

Upon leaving, I was happy to receive my Spa Week swag bag, filled with tons of beauty and skincare products including Dr. Michelle Copeland’s rewind revitalizing shampoo, DS Laboratories Nia helio hydrating shampoo and conditioner, Redken thermal resist, Ecru silk nourishing spray, Ole Henriksen perfecting mask and natural hair hydrator, Herban Essentials orange towelettes, Nad’s facial wax strips, Jane Iredale eye highlighter, Pevonia spa-at-home essentials kit and more!
