Backstage at Monse Spring/Summer 2016 at New York Fashion Week

Backstage at Monse Spring/Summer 2016 at New York Fashion Week, models were prepped with skyn ICELAND and makeup and nails looks were created by butter LONDON

skyn ICELAND has just launched the Arctic Face Oil which is applied after cleansing but before moisturizing. My favorite skyn ICELAND products are ones you'll find the models using backstage - both the Hydro Cooling Firming Eye and Face Gels.

Here are some steps/products for Stress Relieving Skin Care:

Step 1: CLEANSE
Glacial Cleansing Cloths

Step 2: MINIMIZE PORES
Pure Pore Minimizer

Step 3: PREP EYES AND FACE
- Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels
- Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels

Step 4: MOISTURIZE
- Pure Cloud Cream for dry, irritable skin
- the ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion for combination / oily skin
- Arctic Hydrating Balm for very dry skin
- Arctic Elixir Serum which tightens / calms

Step 5: TREAT EYES
Icelandic Relief Eye Cream

Step 6: HYDRATE AND SET MAKE-UP
Arctic Face Mist

For butter LONDON the makeup look was inspired by the moody, sexy and relaxed detailing of the collection. To offset the bold look, the nail was kept sleek, muted and polished.

Products:

EYES: Smoke Stick in Night Shift (Matte Black smoke shade), ShadowClutch Duo in Up All Night (black shade), Double Decker Mascara (NEW Spring ‘16)

SKIN: Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder, Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher, Laura Mercier, Skyn Iceland Facial Mist

BROWS: MAC Brow Set in Clear

LIPS: butter LONDON Plush Rush Lipstick in Buzzed (NEW Spring ‘16), butter LONDON Plush Rush Lipstick in Free (NEW Spring ‘16)

Backstage at Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2016 at New York Fashion Week

Backstage at Rebecca Minkoff Spring/Summer 2016 at New York Fashion Week, skyn ICELAND founder Sarah Kugelman walked us through model prep and new product launches, including the new Arctic Face Oil.  Sarah also walked me through new skyn ICELAND kits including a Winter Rehab Kit, which makes a great gift for the holiday season.

Hairstylist and spokesperson for TRESSemmé, Jeanie Syfu, walks us through the hair look for the show.

Michelle Saunders for essie created a "lucite sunset" nail look, inspired by the chunky lucite heels found throughout the Spring/Summer 2016 footwear collection. The pastel polish shades also perfectly complemented the color palette.

Get the "lucite sunset" look:

1. Apply first base coat to clean, filed nails
2. Next, trim a makeup sponge in half and use the side that's more narrow to create the ombre sunset.
3. From top to bottom, layer the sponge in thin, horizontal lines with tarte deco, marshmallow, beach bum blu and midnight cami.
4. Sponge ombre sunset pattern on each finger, making sure tarte deco is always at the base; colors will need to be reapplied to the sponge every other nail.
5. Then, apply one coat of spaghetti strap over each nail to "soften the sunset"
6. Finish with gel.setter top coat

Backstage at Osklen Spring/Summer 2016 at New York Fashion Week

Osklen Spring/Summer 2016 tells the story of a young girl traveling to visit the Ashaninka tribe of indigenous people in a remote Brazilian village.  Her journey evolves in her look, from luxe and self-confident to a more self-actualized and artistic woman.

Backstage at Osklen's presentation at New York Fashion Week, Aveda Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders created an intricate knotted twist to show the look of the girl after her time with the tribe.

"The devil is in the details with soft wisps of hair throughout the sides, crown and in the back, all reminiscent of feathers," Beenders said. "The knot is simply folded up, with the ends flared to provide an artistic look while also getting the hair away from the face, so she can better explore this new world."

Check out these steps to get the look at home:

Step 1: Prep hair with the Aveda Thickening Tonic and blow dry hair straight.

Step 2: Pull hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic bungee.

Step 3: Taking the end of the ponytail, pull hair up and over the base of the pony to make a loop, secure with a second bungee 1" from the end of the ponytail.

Step 4: Take the remaining end and loosely loop hair around the base of the pony, leaving hair to fan out the sides and top. Secure with a third bungee.

Step 5: Apply new Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo (Available November 1, 2015) on each side of hair to create a matte look and begin to gently massage sides to bring out wispy strands.

Step 6: Set the look with Aveda Control Force Firm Hair Spray.

Recap: VIP Gilt City Warehouse Sale - October 2015

Opening Ceremony Zipper Split Flare Knit Dress
MSRP: $475
Sale Price: $65

Last night I attended the annual fall VIP Gilt City Warehouse Sale at the Metropolitan Pavilion. To help get guests in the shopping mood were cocktails by Skinnygirl, refreshments from Argo Tea and Balance Water, Justin's snack packs and Pretzel Crisps Minis.

So this is the one sale where I never leave empty handed. At some previous sales there had been additional discounts depending on what color the Gilt City price tags were. This time there were no additional discounts but you really didn't need them. The sale prices were phenomenal! I don't remember the pricing ever being this low! It seems like everything I picked up was either $35, $39 or $55. There were a lot of pieces from certain brands, especially Opening Ceremony and JBrand. I was also looking for blazers and shoes,  but overall I got some great additions to my wardrobe.

I love sharing my recaps off my shopping hauls, so take a look what I ended up getting. Aside from dresses, separates and bags, I also picked up some bodyshapers. Total retail value of everything I got added up to $2,675 and I actually spent $425! I'd say that's a pretty good night of shopping and it's not even sample sale season yet!

Early Fall Style Featuring Princess Vera Wang for Kohl's / Ora Delphine / PONO by Joan Goodman

Romper: Princess Vera Wang for Kohl's
Sweater: Candela
Necklace: PONO by Joan Goodman
Sunglasses: Nautica
Bucket Bag: Ora Delphine
Shoes: Calvin Klein

I love putting together those transitional summer-to-fall outfits by combining a little of both seasons  - layering a sweater over a romper and mixing lightweight with heavier fabrics. My Princess Vera Wang for Kohl's Ruffle Romper also works with a cardigan or blazer for an early fall outfit. For accessories, my leather Ora Delphine Claire Bucket Bag in Navy was perfect to pair with my romper. This bag is the perfect size for me, whether I use the handle or the shoulder strap.

This outfit wouldn't be complete without a necklace, and this Ana Spectrum Resin Choker from PONO by Joan Goodman was the perfect match. At first I thought maybe it would be too big on me, but it ended up being just the right size - less of a choker and more of a statement piece. I like the design of the links laying flat,  and the translucent ombre Shell color makes it easy to coordinate with an outfit. It's made of Italian resin, which makes it super lightweight,  and dresses up my look when I wear the romper without my sweater.
