Tracy Reese Fall 2014 at New York Fashion Week

The Tracy Reese Fall 2014 runway show took place on Sunday, February 9th at Center 548 at 548 West 22nd Street. Themes of the collection included self-expression and individual beauty, featuring menswear inspired pieces of oversized sweaters and heathered tweed knits with fringe detailing and gold and gunmetal beading. Seen throughout the looks are metallic leathers, ostrich trims and jeweled and feather details. The palette consists of muted, neutral tones, mustard, brown, burgundy, pops of gold, graphic black and white and mixed prints, from florals to paisley and leaf prints. 

The Tray Reese show included makeup by Mally Beauty and nails by Sally Hansen. For hair, Creative Director, Morgan Willhite and the Ouidad stylists focused on natural textured styles. Learn more about Ouidad styling backstage at the Tracy Reese show here.

Backstage for Tracy Reese's Fall 2014 show during New York Fashion Week, Creative Director, Morgan Willhite led the Ouidad stylists as they created a variety of bold, emotional and textured styles. With "individual beauty" as hairspiration, the Ouidad team created individualized looks that incorporated different hair parts, inconsistent wave patterns, free flowing strands, a windblown "halo" effect and natural texture. 

To achieve these looks, the stylists used Ouidad Wave Create Sea Spray, PlayCurl Volumizing Styling Spray, Styling Mist Setting & Holding Spray, Shine Glaze Serum, Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner and Salon Series by Ouidad Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Hair Treatment. 

For makeup, Mally Beauty invoked aggressive, sultry, exuberant, stoic and melancholy looks, while nails by Sally Hansen were designed to mimic broken glass.

Tracy Reese Spring 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

This past September, Tracy Reese presented her Spring 2014 collection at Mercedes Benz fashion week in Lincoln Center. For this collection Reese aimed to invoke "sensuality, energy, and optimism" through "an array of bold, spirited styles infused with Afro Cuban influences."

The show itself felt alive and spirited with a live Latin band playing as the models shimmied down the runway. The collection featured many separates and coordinates in bright colors such as red, orange, and white. Additionally, Reese played with different tetures and prints in both feminine and sporty looks. The final touch was to add youthful fun to the collection by styling many models with fedoras over low buns and stylish backpacks.

Tracy Reese Sample Sale

The Tracy Reese Sample Sale started today! Usually I find a handful of dresses and tops, but the silhouettes of the samples seem to be looser and larger, so I didn't really find anything that fit me, except for a long-sleeve ruched leaf print dress. There were some really lightweight printed silk pants, but even though they had an elastic waist, they were still too loose on me. Printed silk pants are on my wish list but I definitely need a drawstring waist. So if you are usually wishing the samples would run bigger, then this season's Tracy Reese sale is for you.

There wasn't one running theme for Tracy Reese Fall 2010, but rather a mixture of prints and details that would interest one person or another. Tracy Reese is a favorite of mine when it comes to fun, flirty frocks. The fall season brings lace and embroidery, lacquered jacquard, ruching and jackets with fur trim. Accessories include arm warmers and feminine scarves. Turquoise, blue, brown, grey and black are my favorites of the palette. Adding to the mix are smoky florals and leopard and houndstooth prints.
