Zara Home Launch at www.zarahome.com

On October 9th, Zara Home, part of the Inditex Group, made its US e-commerce debut at zarahome.com. The online store features bed, bath and table linens, as well as select furniture, tableware, cutlery, and decorative accessories, including loungewear, gift items and a selection of children's items. The week before the e-commerce launch I got a sneak peek, particularly at the bedding. Although you don't actually shop by collection, bedding, accessories, and gift items are primarily split up into four distinctive collections - Country, Ethnic, White and Contemporary

Country is inspired by nature and depicted with forest-like dark tones and soothing linen and taupe tones, along with a layered mix of cashmere, leather and velvet fabrics. The Ethnic collection is defined by grays, lilacs and ecru with paisley and floral accents. The White collection has soft white tones, incorporating cottons and linens. The Contemporary collection shows British influence, presenting vibrant flag motifs mixed with an urban, eclectic style.

My favorite from MacKenzie -Childs is the small enamel colander, $40-$48. Other gift ideas include canisters, cake trays and teapots available in several different patterns - Courtly Check, Parchment Check, Flower Market and Odd Fellows.

Visit the MacKenzie-Child's store at 14 West 57th Street or shop at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Horchow.
