Lela Rose Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Inspired by chef and artist Ferran AdriĆ 's masterful creations at El Bulli, Lela Rose explores the geometry, natural beauty and the magical adventure that a meal can be. The textural and playful Lela Rose Fall 2014 collection includes waved hems, embroidered grids and gold dusted gazar. Modern, sophisticated and whimsical silhouettes feature stacked pearls, silk layered with feathers and cashmere knit with crystals.

The palette consists of blue mint, charcoal, magenta and citrine, balanced by black and ivory. Reversible illustrated silk satin, deconstructed glen plaid and swirl jacquard reference unexpected elements experienced during a meal at El Bulli.

The show featured shoes by Jerome Rousseau for Lela Rose, hair by Ted Gibson for Ted Gibson Salon, makeup by Romy Soleimani with Kevyn Aucoin and nails by Butter London. Hair, makeup and nails are care of Lela Rose's Fall 2014 partner, Beauty.com.

Lela Rose Spring 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Lela Rose Spring 2014 is inspired by Danish industrial designer Arne Jacobsen and mid-century modern furniture, with its curvilinear shapes and quirky geometry. The collection features wood grain lace, and sheer tweed and speckled jacquard highlighted by piped seams. Architectural lines are seen through line drawn embroidered silk, block pattered fil coupe and polymorphic printed cotton. The palette includes a mix of light reflected blue, vivid pink and luminous citrine accented by crisp white.

I love how this collection plays with layers of color and texture, with the light reflected blue block pattered fil coupe voluminous, long skirt as my favorite piece.

After the runway show, I ran into one of the models right outside of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and got a closeup shot of her hair. The whimsical look by Ted Gibson, was styled in a chignon-like updo sprinkled with gold flakes.

Lela Rose Fall 2013

Lela Rose Fall 2013 centers on the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales book, with its beauty, dark humor and charm. The collection is filled with delicate black lace, feather embroidery, jewel embroidered necklines, woodcut jacquard and  moonlit and pearl printed silk. Midnight Velveteen, love me not silk twill and raven lace tell tales of secrets, romance and tragedy.

Illustrated jacquards and silk twills in golden, juniper, mercury and willow contrast against snow threaded organza, spun sugar brocade and blush ribbon embroidered fil coupe. Persimmon and autumn plaid prints and florals were also seen on the runway.

Looks appeared in longer lengths, with dresses and skirts falling below-the-knee. My favorite looks include the embroidered jersey peplum top paired with the ginger dot wool straight skirt and the black enchanted fil coupe full skirt halter dress and blush ribbon embroidered fil coupe halter dress.
