Jay Godfrey Spring 2015 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Jay Godfrey Spring 2015 collection depicts western Americana, drawing inspiration from rock 'n' rollers of the late 60's and early 70's. The collection incorporates stretch denim, tea stained ivory lace, suede fringe, and embellished fabrics. Key pieces include fringed dresses, cropped tuxedo jackets, bibbed shirting, atypical hemline skirts and ponchos.

My favorite looks include a denim midi skirt paired with a quilted denim bandeau top with chiffon, black ruffle tuxedo shirt with quilted denim sequin maxi skirt and a black burnout floral maxi skirt with a white collared crop top. Dressier pieces include a chevron sequin tuxedo, black and white deep v-neck chevron sequin gown and a black one shoulder gown with waistline cutouts.

Jay Godfrey Fall 2014 Presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Jay Godfrey was my first presentation of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on February 6th, at the new Hub venue in the Hudson Hotel. New to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Jay Godfrey Fall 2014 is inspired by 70s classic rock-n-roll, mixing modern day glam into the looks with sequins, fringe and vegan leather. Jay Godfrey also draws inspiration from rockstars' stylish offspring such as Theodora Richards, Zoe Kravitz and Peaches Geldof.

Pattie Yankee and her team created three custom "rock n' roll" inspired nail looks using Patricia Nail Lacquer in Void and Inspire Nails in Clear Almond. For the leather nail art, Pattie utilized fringe from the collection to create a stripe down the center of the stiletto shaped nail. Black lace was adorned over Void polish to create a textured nail look. For the third nail look, metallic purple striping tape was placed in a "V" with the black polish to match the sequins used on dresses in the collection.
