Last-Minute Gifts From Arm & Hammer Spinbrush and Birchbox

I recently attended an Arm & Hammer Spinbrush holiday preview at Birchbox in Soho, in which I picked up the latest Spinbrushes, along with beauty and skincare stocking stuffers.

Fun fact: Forty-two percent of Americans consider healthy gifts such as toothbrushes essential to include as stocking stuffers. So if you're still picking up last-minute gifts, Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes make the perfect stocking stuffer. The battery powered toothbrush features dual-action technology for a combination of spinning and side-to-side brushing head movements.

This season there are four different types of Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes:

Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Design Series Limited Edition ($8.99): This is my favorite one, as it comes in a lace design. It removes up to 70% more plaque versus a manual toothbrush.

Arm & Hammer Spinbrush ProClean ($7.99): This one also removes 70% more plaque versus a manual toothbrush. The bristles move up and down to scrub away plaque and massage along the gum line.

Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Pro Whitening ($7.99): The innovative bristle system gently polishes away surface stains as it clean and produces whiter teeth in just seven days.

Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Paw Patrol and Shimmer & Shine ($5.99): These new Spinbrushes for kids have smaller, soft-bristle power heads to fit smaller mouths. Kids brush 38% longer when using a Spinbrush battery-powered toothbrush vs. a manual toothbrush.

As for my five favorite picks at Birchbox, this is what I chose:

Recap: Birchbox + Juice Beauty Birchblogger Event

On October 9th, Birchbloggers celebrated Juice Beauty's partnership with Birchbox, at the Birchbox SoHO store at 433 W Broadway. The VIP Hour included complimentary instant eye lift treatments from Juice Beauty, hair touch-ups from Number 4 Hair Care, Soda Bar by Brooklyn Soda Works and delicious snacks.

I was first introduced to Juice Beauty's Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift when it launched in the spring. The eye mask instantly brightens and lifts the eyes, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. It's a quick two-step process: first you pour the entire vial of Activator Fluid on top of the eye masks, then once it is fully soaked in you apply each mask under your eye area and leave on for ten minutes.  It leaves your eyes feeling revived, smooth and hydrated. Each box comes with 6 algae eye mask sets.

We also got sent home with Juice Beauty's GREEN APPLE Peel Nightly Brightening Pads, which brightens, smooths and corrects skin tone. The bamboo pads are saturated with antioxidant rich organic fruit acids to brighten while extracts of algae, Vitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.

Since I am already a big fan of Juice Beauty's GREEN APPLE Peel Full Strength, I knew I would love this latest addition to the GREEN APPLE product line. The pads are very thin and not overly saturated, yet it does feel like it really gets into the skin. Just after a few days I can notice the difference, and feel this actually does help with brightening. I can't wait to see how it continues to work as I use it through the fall/winter season.

I also keep Juice Beauty's Reflecting Gloss in Guava in my bag, but since I'm almost completely out of my gloss I'm glad we got one at the event, and this time I get to try it in Pink. The gloss glides on so easily and is smooth and non-sticky.

For my hair touch-up, I decided to have my hair styled half up, half down, with some braiding and loose waves, using Number 4 styling products such as the Thermal Styling Spray and Texture Styling Crème.

Marcelle Cosmetics Birchbloggers Breakfast and Lux Gloss Giveaway

Last Friday I started my day with a visit to the new Birchbox SoHo store at 433 West Broadway for a Birchbloggers breakfast with Marcelle Cosmetics. Our morning included a makeup demo which allowed us to get more familiar with Marcelle's products. My favorite Marcelle product so far has been the BB Cream in Golden Glow. It's great to use in the summer since it combats shine and oily skin.

Some of Marcelle's products that I am excited to try next are the 2 in 1 Retractable Eyeliner, BB Concealer and Monochromatic Pressed Powder. There were some great makeup tips we picked up during the demo:

Tip #1: Start with applying your eye makeup first, so that when your cleaning up any running eyeshadow, eyeliner or mascara, you aren't removing any other makeup you would have applied - concealer, foundation, etc.

Tip 2: When applying the BB Concealer, massage the roll-on from the middle, and then outward in a figure-8 motion to stimulate circulation and decrease any puffiness.

Tip #3: To keep your eyeliner from running, be sure to set your makeup with a powder.  Apply Marcelle's Monochromatic Pressed Powder under your eyes.

Tip 4: To transform a day look into night, add a liquid liner, darker lip and a little bronzer.

Next we visited the Marcelle x Birchbox Gloss Bar to make our own custom-made lip glosses! The gloss in made in minutes just after you choose your base color (or mix two or three together), finish and special effect. The Lux Gloss comes out semi-sheer with a high-shine finish. I went with red/magenta and ultra violet shades for the upcoming fall season. In addition to the glosses we also got to leave with deluxe samples of the BB Cleanser and BB Cream and a brand new Make-Up Palette.

Thank you Marcelle Cosmetics and Birchbox for hosting such a fabulous Birchbloggers breakfast! Since it was my first time visiting the SoHo store, I spent my entire morning exploring the store and even created a BYOB (Build Your Own Birchbox)!

Now it's time for a giveaway! I am giving away one of the Marcelle Lux Glosses I created in a Tangerine/Ultra Violet shade, Copper Finish and Drops of Jupiter effect. To enter, leave a comment below with your email address.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Collection

A few weeks ago, Birchbloggers attended an exclusive Birchbox event to preview the Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Collection. The new collection consists of Eyeshadow Palette - No. 2 ($24), Eyeliners ($16) in Sky Blue, Black, Violet, Charcoal and Silver, Creamy Lip Stains ($20) in Sugar, Tulip and Valentine and a Confetti Neoprene Bag ($20).

During the event, Birchbloggers enjoyed makeup touchups, Prosecco and candy, and chatted with Birchbox co-founder Hayley Barna. Each Birchblogger received a Cynthia Rowley Beauty Collection to review on their blog.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty's Eyeshadow Palette - No. 2 consists of five candy-inspired shades - Cotton Candy, Licorice, Confetti, Cloud and Marshmallow, inspired by the makeup looks from Cynthia Rowley's Spring 2014 collection. The mix of pastel pinks, purples and neutrals is great for a daytime look, or creating a smoky eye for the evening with the Licorice shade.

My favorite product from the Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Collection is the eyeliner! The creamy liners just go on velvety-smooth, don't smudge and stays on all day. Usually I stick with a classic black eyeliner but I love the boldness of Sky Blue, as it really makes my eyes pop, especially if I apply a thicker line. It's also easy to create a smoky eye when you smudge your lash line.

Usually I stay away from lip stains because they tend to dry out my lips, but I absolutely love Cynthia Rowley Beauty's lip stains because they provide the moisture and shine of a gloss, yet stay on like a stain. I like to reapply for a more pigmented lip.

Birchbox + Color Club Gala's Gems Collection Preview

On February 13th, Birchbox invited NYC Birchbloggers to preview the Color Club Gala's Gems Collection with prosecco, hot chocolate and manicures at the Mondrian Soho. This event was the perfect way to close out New York Fashion Week, arriving just in time for Q&A with Birchbox co-founder Katia Beauchamp and fashion blogger, Gala Gonzalez of amlul.com. This was the first time I met Gala, who is incredibly sweet, originally from Spain and now resides in London. She took us through her upcoming Gala's Gems nail polish collaboration with Color Club, which features four colors: Heirloom Pearls, Breafast At..., Aquamarine Azulino and Gold Struck. Gala also talked about how she started her blog, how it has evolved into a full-time passion and gave some sound advice to bloggers looking to transition their blog into a career. Congratulations Gala on the launch and look forward to seeing the nail lacquer collection on birchbox.com this Spring!
