Maybelline House with Adriana Lima at New Your Fashion Week

On September 10th, during New York Fashion Week, I stopped over at Maybelline House, for a meet & greet with my favorite model, Adriana Lima! At the space guests were able to preview Maybelline's newest products, including the Lemonade Craze eyeshadow palette and get makeup touch-ups, enjoy refreshments and snacks, and create customized tees and totes. Part of the Maybelline House was styled as a beauty-ful and feminine version of the New York City Subway.

Backstage at Zoe Jordan Fall 2015 at New York Fashion Week

Backstage at the High Line Ball Room of the Standard High Line Hotel during New York Fashion Week, Zoe Jordan walks us through fabrics and key pieces for her Fall 2015 collection.

The hair look for Zoe Jordan's Fall 2015 presentation is an Urban Chic rock and roll inspired look, capturing an urban landscape. Lead stylist for Macadamia Professional, Giannandrea walks me through model prep as well as how to achieve this next day hair look at home.

Step-by-Step Urban Chic Hair Look:

          1. Part hair down the center and apply Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer from roots to ends, massaging at the crown for extreme volume.
          2. Blow dry in small sections with hands only to create a dimensional, imperfectly textured look, focusing again on the roots to increase volume.
          3. Once dry, divide the hair in two sections on each side of the center part and twist the two sections tightly together - spraying Macadamia Control Working Spray to create jold and grip - down the whole length of the hair to create pigtail-like twists, spinning the twist up against the side of the head and securing with bobby pins. Let the buns set for 20 minutes.
          4. Remove the pins and unwrap the hair, letting it fall, Scrunch the roots to get extra volume. Spray Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Oil Spray throughout the hair to increase shine.
          5. Create a big side part, pushing all the hair over to one side and securing in a low pony tail. Use Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream through the ends of hair, rubbing fingers together over the hair to create texture.
          6. Set the look with Macadamia Control Working Spray

Backstage at Isa Arfen Fall 2015 at New York Fashion Week

Isa Arfen Fall 2015 is inspired from Luigi Ghirri taken in the early 70s in Serafina's hometown of Ravenna, Italy. The mood is a mix between the natural, muted tones of the 70's and the rebellious, irreverent yet romantic teenage movements of the 90's - Vogue Italia.

Backstage at Isa Arfen, lead stylist for Macadamia Professional, Giannandrea, walked me through the hair look for the presentation, which was 90's Next Day Model Hair.

Step-by-Step 90's Next Day Model Hair:

          1. Apply a dollop of Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer mostly at the roots.
          2. Using hands and diffuser dry it side to side and upside down to increase volume.
          3. Once dry, apply the Macadamia Volumizing Dry Shampoo to create extra volume and separation. Then use hands to pull hair back gently - not too tight - to maintain soft, natural look.
          4. Pull into low pony at the nape of the neck and use a small brown elastic to hold it in place.
          5. Leave soft and run Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream through the length of the pony to provide added texture and detail to the hair.
          6. Place bobby pins in the same tone as your hair in an "X" pattern on the side with the most hair and add one bobby pin at the back to help keep hair in place.
          7. Mist the Macadamia Control Working Spray to create a light hold.

Hutch Spring 2013 Featuring Watercolor Florals

I don't typically wear colorful florals, at least until I came across Hutch designer Daniel Saponaro and his feminine yet modern, bold prints. This watercolor floral silk cami was just my style once I paired it with mint green ripped jeans and white blazer for a perfect spring outfit.

His line is very wearable, especially for the petite girl, with convertible and 3/4 sleeve details. There's so much I love in the Hutch spring collection, from shrunken blazers, shirt dresses and draped pocket tops to pleated elastic skirts and high waisted dresses. Along with conceptual prints, there's a good mix of chambray, navy, and pops of watermelon, jade, hot orange and marigold.

Cami: Hutch Watercolor Floral
Blazer: BCBGMAXAZRIA Candice Jacket, Gardenia, $208
Jeans: Diesel Zivy Skinny
Handbag: Cynthia Rowley
Shoes: Calvin Klein Danica Platform Peeptoe Bootie, Graphite
Earrings: Kensie
Watch: Anne Klein Rose Gold and Crystal Watch
Rose Gold Bracelets: Bauble Bar and American Eagle
Hair Tie: Emi-Jay
