Muse Apparel Featuring Midnight Florals

I attend a lot of evening events, so I am always on the lookout for cocktail dresses. I love the dark floral print and pocket detailing on this Midnight Brocade Dress from Muse Apparel. Their size 0 runs a little big on me, so I had to get this dress hemmed, but the rest of the fit was perfect. Muse Apparel carries daytime dresses and party dresses from $99 to $178, catering to different styles and shapes. You can checkout the new arrivals and resort collection at museapparel.com, and $50 dresses in the sale section.

Hutch Spring 2013 Featuring Watercolor Florals

I don't typically wear colorful florals, at least until I came across Hutch designer Daniel Saponaro and his feminine yet modern, bold prints. This watercolor floral silk cami was just my style once I paired it with mint green ripped jeans and white blazer for a perfect spring outfit.

His line is very wearable, especially for the petite girl, with convertible and 3/4 sleeve details. There's so much I love in the Hutch spring collection, from shrunken blazers, shirt dresses and draped pocket tops to pleated elastic skirts and high waisted dresses. Along with conceptual prints, there's a good mix of chambray, navy, and pops of watermelon, jade, hot orange and marigold.

Emi-Jay Trunk Show at Saks Fifth Avenue

Emily and Julianne of Emi-Jay

Last Thursday I stopped by Saks Fifth Avenue for the Emi-Jay trunk show, to meet with founders Emily and Julianne, who have been creating their own hair ties since the eighth grade. Now as seniors in high school, they have successfully built up their business alongside their mothers, who I also had the pleasure of meeting.

Emi-Jay's hair ties and headbands are hand-dyed, handmade and don't pull or dent your hair. Their headbands are wider than the ones I have, and actually feel more secure and stay in place. This spring Emi-Jay features florals and chevron prints, and pops of colors of orange, yellow and blue. Check out their entire collection at emi-jay.com.

Also during the trunk show, I got a makeup touchup and hair styled in a fishtail braid, finished off with an Emi-Jay hair tie. I couldn't leave Saks without stopping by one of my favorite designers, Helmut Lang, who partnered up with Pointy Snout for a caviar tasting.
