Make Your Dreams Stick with Post-it® Brand and Hailee Steinfeld

On July 23rd, Hailee Steinfeld and Post-it® Brand kicked off back-to-school season by inspiring students to dream big, set goals and make them stick at Bathhouse Studios in NYC. The exclusive event featured an interactive Q&A and one-of-a-kind acoustic performance by Hailee, as well as a preview of new products from the Post-it® Brand. Among attendees were students from the NYC chapter of national non-profit After School All Stars.

One of the takeaways was that you are 42% more likely to achieve a goal if you write them down. I have always used Post-it® for reminders and noting major tasks at work but now I really think I should start a personal goals Post-it® wall! During the event, attendees were encouraged to contribute to the Post-it® wall by writing something down that you are looking forward to, that's been on your mind, and that will motivate and encourage you.

Check out the Q&A with Hailee and Remi Kent, Global Business Director of the Post-it® Brand

Hailee Steinfeld on achieving her goals
“I feel like if you can put [your goals] out into the universe and work tirelessly to achieve [them], then you can do anything ….. you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down and I find that to be true”

Hailee Steinfeld on inspiration
“I’ve been very, very lucky – I’ve had some incredible people around me my whole life that have inspired me and motivated me – if I can be that person for anyone else, then I consider that a huge honor”

Hailee Steinfeld on facing setbacks
“Whatever it is that you’re doing, if it makes you happy, then nothing should come in the way of that – of course you will face setbacks, but it is important to stay positive and keep going”

Hailee Steinfeld on her current goals
“It has been a goal of mine to get out on the road this year so that is coming to life, which is exciting. I also love doing both acting and singing – as long as I can remain doing both, happy and healthy, then that’s my goal”

Hailee Steinfeld on upcoming projects
“I am in the middle of a tour right now with Charlie Puth on the Voice Notes Tour, so that’s been very fun. We are just kinda getting started, so I will be doing that for the majority of my summer and then I have a film called Bumblee coming out around Christmas, which is a spinoff to Transformers”

Back-to-School Shopping at Staples with Nick Cannon

Last month, I previewed Staples back-to-school shopping with Nick Cannon as he took us through his collaboration with Monster NCredible N-Tune On-Ear Headphones and N-Ergy In-Ear Headphones, which are just as comfortable as they are fashionable, at an affordable price.

Back-to-school shopping is also a great time for anyone to get in gear with office supplies, home organization accessories and technology. Along with Monster headphones, some of my must-haves include Kingston's DataTraveler SE9 8GB USB 2.0 USB ($6.39), Apple USB Superdrive ($79) for my new MacBook Air, and for a tablet, the Microsoft Surface RT with Black Touch Cover, 64GB ($549) with touch screen and keyboard.

For organization products, Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery features everything from stylish drawers and trays to journals and tablet and laptop cases. I love the mint desk accessories, including Stack+Fit Shagreen Document Storage Boxes ($13.99), Shagreen Drawer with Inbox ($16.99), Stack+Fit Shagreen Box ($2.99) as well as the Message Board, Flourish ($13.99) and Chalkboard Labels, Flourish ($5.99).

In addition to Staples members earning five percent back in rewards on everything in the store, Staples also has a Back -to-School Savings Pass, which provides customers with a 15 percent discount on supplies. It is available for purchase for $10 through August 31st, and valid until September 21st, and can be used once a day. Students can also take advantage of receiving Microsoft Office 365 for free ($79.99 value) with the purchase of select touch screen laptops from Dell, HP, Acer, Lenovo, and Toshiba.

Accessories Council Back-to-School Fall Fashion Picks

It's hard to believe that it's already time for back-to-school shopping. Last week the Accessories Council and Lyss Stern, founder and president of Divalysscious Moms, introduced us to their back-to-school picks. Whether you are a high school or college student, parent or teacher, you'll love these fall fashion accessories.

1) The fall season is a perfect time to sport a fedora, like this stylish BCBGeneration Herringbone Fedora ($38).

2) David & Young scarves ($24-36) are known for their Figure 8 loop silhouette, currently featuring animal prints, kitschy icons, geometric/Aztec prints, feathers & leaves, and tie-dye.

3) Empowered by You panties ($20) are made with patented flocking technology that prevents slipping or bunching and moisture wicking fabrications. They are incredibly comfortable, with a seamless fit. Empowered by You donates 20% of their net profits from every panty they sell to charities that provide micro financing loans for women's businesses throughout the world. Each panty is packaged in a small, clear zip-closure smart-pack that is resealable and reusable.

4) I always make sure I am fully stocked on black tights, and these Boy Meets Girl tights ($18) featuring their logo are a fun addition to your wardrobe.

5) I love the versatility of Stephanie Kantis chains ($235-$295), which can be worn over 15 different ways, transforming from a long lariat or double wrap to a belt. The chains can be mixed and matched with pendants to create stunning, statement pieces.

6) Another favorite of mine is Roman and Sunstone's Roman Luxe Triangle Python Pinky Ring ($50), which actually fits well on my ring finger.

7) A watch is a must-have accessory to make sure you are never late for class. Fossil's Florence Collection ($75-95) has a new case shape in jewel tone leather straps or metal bracelets.

8) Add some rock n' roll jewelry to your look with Electric Picks 'Two Heads - Stars' ($65) handbeaded and knotted bracelet featuring hematite, gold-plated skulls, and a hand-painted star bead.

9) Aviators are one of my favorite sunglass styles, like these Randolph Bright Chrome and Matte Chrome Aviators, originally built for the U.S. Military, battle tested and prepared for rigorous use, worn by pilots and taste-makers.

10) Keep organized while looking chic with the Big Buddha Carmen Wallet and Clutch ($29.95)  in non-leather croc, with interior dividers, snap closure.

11) This men's Calvin Klein Leather Bookfold Wallet and Key Fob ($45) is a sleek, sophisticated combo with eight card slots and an ID window.

12) I'm always on the lookout for a new iPhone 5 case, and love this DEOS Pink Leather and White Wave Case ($40) embellished with Xirius Chaton Swarovski Elements.

13) Add some sparkles and sequins to your back-to-school look with this glam RUUM American Kid's Wear Sequin Dot Backpack ($44.50).

14)  Show off your rocker style with this Carlos by Carlos Santana Carryall ($108), featuring whip stitch chain detailing and std accents. This faux leather bag has a adjustable, detachable shoulder strap and plenty of room to carry everything you need from day to night.
