LOFT Focuses on Petites

If you're petite, you'll be happy to know that LOFT is shifting their focus to their PETITES boutique, where sizing starts at size 00 and XXS. It looks like LOFT really took into consideration what silhouettes are flattering on petites, offering mini and pencil skirts to 3/4 sleeve blouses and skinny jeans with a 28" inseam.

LOFT's new petite fit guide easily shows the difference between a regular fit and petite fit on Lauren, a 5'2" LOFT associate.

Tops, cardigans and blazers from LOFT have for the most part been easy for me to shop, but I've never been able to find a great fit with LOFT's pants, skirts or dresses. I'm hoping LOFT will start carrying tailor-free petite pieces that I can fit into, such as wrap dresses, tunics, mini dresses and maxi dresses that aren't sweeping the floor. I'm curious to see how the Petite Seamed Pencil Skirt in LOFT Scuba would fit on me. I think I'm just going to have to order it and find out!

Clarks Fall 2012

Clarks Fall 2012 collection features vintage-inspired shoes with modern details including stitching accents, studded tabs, back, side or asymmetrical zipper, cinch strap at the ankle and buckled straps. Clarks has a variety of shoes from mary janes and pumps to tall boots and ankle boots to tall boots in taupe, dark brown, charcoal and black. The collection includes classic styles as well as biker and Western ones.

Clarks shoes are known for their comfort, with an OrthoLite® footbed with Active Air® cushions included in select styles. Some styles are also waterproof for those rainy days, or have a rugged traction outsole for snowy days.

The fall collection is made of leather, suede, faux fur lining and faux shearling. Some of my favorite boot details are distressed leather, zippers and buckled straps. I especially love the ankle boots with the faux shearling cuff and lining, that you can either wear folded over or zipped all the way up. Most of all, I am glad Clarks carries size 5!

I·N·C International Concepts Fall/Winter 2012 with Max Irons

On Thursday, August 9th, I attended an evening with Max Irons for the unveiling of I·N·C International Concepts Fall/Winter 2012 men's campaign imagery and presentation at Thom Bar, 60 Thompson Street.

I·N·C features Max Irons for a second consecutive season. The Fall/Winter 2012 collection features tailored and casual sportswear pieces with athletic detailing.

G-Shock 30th Anniversary Press Conference and Performance by Eminem

On August 9th, I attended G-Shock's multimedia press conference at Manhattan Center, including a meet-and-greet with the G-Shock athlete roster and the creators of the legendary timepiece. Attendees were taken through a retrospective of G-Shock’s innovative technology and previewed upcoming product releases. New collaboration models between Eric Haze, DGK, Clot and Burton were showcased in addition to limited edition 30th Anniversary tribute models set to hit stores later this year.

The festivities continued with an exclusive 30th Anniversary after party with Slaughterhouse opening for Eminem, who took the stage for a private concert following the news of a G-Shock and Eminem collaborative timepiece that will be released in Fall of 2013.
