Lands' End and Breastcancer.org have teamed up to launch the Pink Thread Project. Summer Style in Puerto Vallarta Featuring Lands' End Swimwear

While vacationing and resort-hopping in Mexico in July, I visited with Velas Vallarta and wanted to share some travel pieces to wear to the pool or beach. It was the first time I got to wear my Lands' End Swim Tee Rash Guard, which provides UPF 50 protection against harmful rays. It's lightweight and easy to wear over your swimsuit top for hanging out in or out of the water. I had on a regular XS, so it does have a looser fit on me, but I can also knot the swim tee for a more fitted look. It is also available in a Petite XS. 

Since the swim tee rash guard is offered in different prints from stripes to polka dots, it looks great when you mix it up with a contrast bottom, like Lands' End Bella Flora Floral Pleated Retro High Rise Swimsuit Bottom. I had tried on several high rise styles across a few brands and was finally comfortable with the fit on this Lands' End one. Floral prints aren't really my style but I love this particular vibrant floral and the shirring detail.

Recap: Lands' End Swim Truck

The Lands' End Getaway Tour's professional swim fit experts have been offering personal swimsuit fittings and style advice to women, making stops in six cities throughout US and Canada including Atlanta, New York, Boston Toronto, Chicago and the final stop coming up in Madison, Wisconsin on June 7th. 

I visited the Lands' End Getaway Tour during their stop at Flatiron Plaza in NYC on May 21st. Fashion stylist , top-selling author and Glamour Glambassador, Kendall Farr, was on hand to discuss swim trends. 

I also had a professional fitting session and one-on-one swim silhouette consultation. Based on my bust, hip, waist and torso measurements, I received some swimsuits to try on to find. Lands' End offers swimsuit sizes from size 2 to 26W, ranging from regular and petite (short torso) to tall (long torso) and plus sizes. Although petite sizes are offered, I found that I really need a size 0, as the styles I tried on in a size 2 were loose fitting. I did like the style of the Bella Flora Floral Pleated Retro High Rise Swimsuit Bottom. I would most likely pair it with a more simple, solid color bikini top, without any pleating detail.

Lands' End / Lands' End Canvas Spring 2013

There are some great sales going on for both Lands' End and Lands' End Canvas Spring 2013 collections. This season, Lands' End launched their swim tees in bold prints and colors. The tees are available in petite sizing, and have UPF 50 built into the fabric. Stretchy and lightweight, it's designed to wear over your bathing suit, and perfect for those upcoming obstacle courses.

My favorite accessories always include the monogrammed totes, for storing beach towels (available in dot, tile, palm leaf and floral prints), flip flops, or magazines. I also love the tan leather satchel, needlepoint iPad cases and Pendleton windowpane plaid wool blankets.
