FOX's The Following: Interview with James Purefoy, Kevin Williamson and Valorie Curry

During New York Comic Con 2013 this past October, after The Following panel I sat down with James Purefoy (one of my favorite actors and incredibly charming), creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson and Valorie Curry.

First thing's first - I had to start off the interview asking James Purefoy who his leather jacket was by and he filled me in on his shopping trip. Major retailer fashion faux pas. I'm sure they are kicking themselves now. Watch the video to find out what happened!

Now for the question on everyone's mind - is Joe Carroll really dead? We couldn't get a straight yes or no answer from the cast but my guess would be no. I highly doubt a mastermind like Joe Carroll could be killed off so easily.

The Following returns to FOX with a special preview on January 19th after the NFC Championship and then on Mondays at 9/8c starting January 27th.

Check out my full interview with James Purefoy, as he also discusses Joe's character as a sociopath.

Kevin Williamson talks about the writing process for The Following and touches on Joe Carroll as a sociopath and how he influences people.

Valorie Curry talks about Emma Hill's character on The Following

I couldn't leave without a picture with James!

FOX's The Following Panel at New York Comic Con 2013

On October 13th during the last day of Comic Con, I joined FOX's The Following creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson, executive producer/director Marcos Seiga, and stars Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Connie Nielsen and Valorie Curry for a special video presentation and Q&A panel. The Following's intense second season returns to FOX this January, where we'll see a new fresh take on Ryan Hardy, one year later. The big question is what really happened to Joe Carroll and what have his followers been up to?

Check out some of the video clips from the panel below and get ready for the upcoming season!

James Purefoy talks about Joe Carroll and how the audience responds to his character

Shawn Ashmore discusses the relationship between Mike and Ryan and the connection between the two characters

Kevin Bacon and Kevin Williamson talk about the upcoming season, including the sense of family

Connie Nielsen talks about her new character on the show

Marcos Siega talks about killing off characters on the show

FOX's The Following: Clips from New York Comic-Con

The anticipation is almost over! If you watch FOX, by now you should have seen numerous trailers on FOX's new serial killer thriller by creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson, The Following, premiering Monday night at 9pm ET/PT.

At New York Comic-Con 2012 back in October, I attended The Following panel and pilot episode screening. The panel included executive producer Marcos Siega and series stars Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Annie Parisse, Natalie Zea and Shawn Ashmore.

The pilot episode had me on the edge of my seat, as former FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) is drawn back into a string of gruesome murders masterminded by serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy), who put an end to  Hardy's career years before. Carroll escaped from prison a month before he was supposed to be executed, and now has cult followers helping him carry out his plans and gather his victims. It is amazingly chilling how Purefoy brings Carroll's disturbing and brilliant, yet charming character to life. The Following is dark, suspenseful and creepy - you can't help but get drawn into all the psychological drama.
