Yoana Baraschi Fall 2014 Preview Featuring CHI Hair Care at INGLOT Studio

On February 5th, I previewed the Yoana Baraschi Fall 2014 collection at INGLOT Studio, inside Chelsea Market at 75 9th Ave. Yoana Baraschi was one of the featured designers that showcased her collection at the debut of "INGLOT FASHION FORWARD" during New York Fashion Week, in partnership with INGLOT Cosmetics and CHI Hair Care by Farouk Systems.

Yoana Baraschi's Fall 2014 collection features dresses and separates in black and  white, with a pop of red. Among my favorite pieces are a black and white colorblock blazer and leather pencil skirt, that incorporates a new elasticized embroidery technique.

Check out my interview with Yoana, as she takes me through her Fall collection, and discusses how her line is petite-friendly, starting at size 0. You can also find dresses and separates from Yoana Baraschi at Anthropologie, with petite sizing available starting in XXS P / 00 P.

During the preview, I met with CHI Hair Care by Farouk Systems for a how-to and styling demo of the G2 Ceramic and Titanium Hair Styling Iron. I've actually never curled my hair with a flat iron, but the G2's plates have a curved design on the edges, making it easier to glide through hair to create ribbon waves. I look forward to re-creating this look with the G2 at home!

Kaufmanfranco Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Kaufmanfranco Fall 2014 is classic and clean, with simple silhouettes in black and white. Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco looked to Kate Moss' 90s style for inspiration, resulting in sophisticated, chic pieces. The collection featured luxurious leather outerwear with fur detailing, bias cut slip dresses and embellished gowns, including a stunning gown covered in silver bugle beads. The looks included zipper detailing on the sleeves, discreet cutouts and metallic accents. Many of the looks had petite-friendly hemlines and three-quarter sleeves, especially on the leather and outerwear pieces.

Skingraft Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Skingraft Fall 2014 is inspired by the idea of drastic climate change and an inevitable return to a dystopian survivalist future. The collection pulls from Siberian, Mongolian and artic tribal cultures who have adapted , thrived and built communities in harsh climates and severe conditions for centuries.

The edgy, luxurious streetwear looks for Fall 2014 incorporate new fabrications such as hand-quilted leather and mohair, shaved ponyhair and ribbed nylon-fused fleece and intricate embroideries detailed with leather and metal jewels.

Skingraft's Fall 2014 show was one of my favorites this season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, with key looks including a gold leather & mohair woven moto jacket paired with a leather moto pencil skirt, a ponyhair varsity jacket over a leather tunic dress and a fur & knit leather jacket worn with a gold embroidered Mongolian skirt.

Shoes and accessories are also by Skingraft, with select jewelry by Mishka Piaf. Check out my backstage beauty coverage here, with makeup by Sarah Lucero for Stila, hair by Jon Reyman for Aveda and nails by Patricia Yankee Nail Lacquer.

Backstage Beauty at Skingraft Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Backstage at Skingraft Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Sarah Lucero, Stila's Global Director of Education and celebrity makeup artist extraordinaire, took me through the "Siberian Empress" look: glossy, balmy skin with a matte, maroon lip. I also asked Sarah to share her prep tips for keeping your lips moisturized and hydrated before applying that bold lip color.

Here's a look at some of the products used for the "Siberian Empress" look: Stila CC Cream, Chinois Eye Shadow, Lip and Cheek Stain in Cherry Crush, Color Balm Lipstick in Ali and Stay All Day Brow.

For nails, 2 coats of Patricia Nail Lacquer in Grounded were applied, followed by the Patricia Nail Lacquer Protect Top Coat.

Jon Reyman lead hair stylist for Aveda, walked me through the hair look for the show, which was a straight, matte look, using only Aveda's translucent makeup powder.

Noon By Noor Fall 2014 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Noon By Noor Fall 2014 is inspired by patterns found in the natural environment, from cloud formations and crystalline structures to geometric patterns seen in minerals and represented through this season's signature prints, and a palette of ice blue, cool mint, mauve, navy, burgundy, and vanilla with pops of yellow, chartreuse and royal purple.

The collection includes masculine tailoring and oversized silhouettes seen through sportswear, eveningwear and luxurious and voluminous coats. Noon By Noor plays with texture by combining felt and faux fur, chiffon and heavy crepe and leather and felt, while neoprene, waffle wool mohair and a houndstooth jacquard wool add to the textured effect. Exquisite detailing and intricate embellishments adorn tops and cascade gowns for a dramatic effect.

The show featured music by The Misshapes, voluminous ponytails by Jorge Luis for PRIVE, nails by Cinnamon Bowser for Zoya and make up by Neil Young for MAC Cosmetics. I've been obsessing over the bold, dark lip I've been seeing all over the runway, with the look at Noon By Noor my favorite. For the look, Neil Young mixed a cabernet lip color base by mixing MAC Lip Pencil in Vino with MAC Lipstick in Smoked Purple and Flat Out Fabulous, completing the lip look by dusting the center of the mouth with an ultraviolet powder (MAC Pigment Powder in Hi-Def Cyan).
