Nomaterra Travel-Inspired Fragrances for Spring 2013

Nomaterra is inspired by travel and the opportunities, adventures and exploration that comes with it. Nomaterra takes us on a journey through Miami, East Hampton and Washington D.C. - three fragrances in the Spring collection that are based on these locations. These three locations hold great meaning to Nomaterra's founder and CEO, Agnieszka Sygnarowicz Burnett, since Miami, East Hampton and Washington D.C. were the first three areas her family traveled to after arriving in the United States from communist Poland in 1986. 

Miami is easily my favorite scent, with notes of orange blossom, jasmine, melon, pink grapefruit and coconut. It's a fun and flirty, seductive fruity-floral scent that I can't wait to spray on this spring/summer. 

East Hampton has a clean and refreshing, sophisticated and elegant woody-floral scent, with notes of jasmine, gardenia, bergamot and white woods. 

Washington D.C. is boldly-scented with spices of nutmeg, bay leaf, and black pepper, balanced with a citrus-y opening and a warm vanilla and musk base. 

 Nomaterra's "on-the-go" eau de parfum travel sprays retail for $110 and come in a modern 0.5 oz aluminum twist-up bottle and includes a 0.5 oz replacement. The spray is light enough to tote in your purse everyday, with no worries of leaking or breaking. 

What I really find unique are the fragrance wipes that can fit in your pocket or clutch. The fragrance wipes would be ideal when wearing delicate fabrics like silk, that sometimes get damaged by perfume spritzes and would also be refreshing during the summer. The wipe application more evenly distributes the fragrance, so you don't have to worry about having sprayed too much perfume or not enough. The fragrance wipes come as a set of 12 wipes in a portable flip box that retails for $36 and $3 individually.

American Eagle Outfitters / Aerie Spring 2013

I'm still waiting for sunny and warm weather to arrive in NYC, but until then I'm just going to have to continue on with my spring shopping and add some tie-dye, peplum and cutout pieces to my wardrobe. I'm also looking to add some color, and this season is filled with pastels and neons including lemon yellow, coral and mint.

I ended up getting all of these jewelry pieces (I love the rose gold selection from American Eagle this season). The Arrow Bracelet does fit perfectly on my petite wrist, so I am really excited about that piece and the Rhinestone Pyramid Ring I just bought on ae.com.

Nautilus Home Fitness Equipment Featuring CoreBody Reformer and Bowflex

Earlier this month, Nautilus hosted a fitness event to introduce new home fitness equipment. Celebrity trainers Jen Galardi, Jay Blahnik and Gregg Cook took me through 1:1 demos of each piece of equipment - CoreBody Reformer® by Nautilus, Bowflex® SelectTech® Dumbbells, 

Bowflex® BodyTower™, Bowflex® TreadClimber®, 

Bowflex® UpperCut™, Schwinn® Airdyne® AD6, Schwinn® 520 Reclined Elliptical and the Peak Fit System™. Of all the demos, I am obsessed with CoreBody Reformer ($249.95), which also comes with four workouts on one DVD - Total Body Workout #1, Total Body Express, Core Essentials and Stretch & Renew.  

Jen introduced me to foam-roll exercises, which would be great to do once I start running again this spring. CoreBody Reformer® combines yoga, pilates and dance. I loved trying out the scissor and leg stretches. It was challenging trying to keep my balance but was incredibly fun - I could have used CoreBody Reformer® all day!

Home fitness is really important to me since my schedule is always booked, and I need to be able to exercise on my own time, whether it's for 20 minutes or an hour. I would love to add CoreBody Reformer® to my spring training regimen, to help me get in shape for the next Rugged Maniac obstacle course in NY this June.

Jay took me through the Bowflex® SelectTech® Dumbbells, which contains 8 sets of weights ranging from 5 to 52.5 pounds on each side, in 5 pound increments. 

Gregg demonstrates how to use the Bowflex® BodyTower™, which features more than 18 exercises, complete with hand grips and sling straps. This is my favorite from Bowflex®, since it allows me to focus on upper body workouts. 

I actually tried the Bowflex® UpperCut™, but needed some assistance in trying it out since I really didn't weigh enough to keep up with the resistance. It is great for assisting with push ups and is great for defining your back and abs and strengething your shoulders.

The Schwinn® 520 Reclined Elliptical (left) combines a seat position with an elliptical foot path. The harder you pedal on the Schwinn® Airdyne® AD6 (left), the harder the resistance. It has a unique RevMeter™ RPM gauge that's perfect for interval training.

Samsung Galaxy S4 'Unpacked' Preview

On Thursday, at Radio City Music Hall, Samsung took a theatrical approach in introducing the new Galaxy S4, acting out new features on stage. I've comfortably been 'Team iPhone' for years, but the Galaxy S4 may actually be the phone that finally gets me to make that switch. I've always felt that with the iPhone I've had access to a broader range of apps and accessories, but there are so many new enhancements on the Galaxy S4 that would be hard to pass up. Apple needs to come up with some new phone innovations or else they are going to find themselves losing out to the competition.
