Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Beauty Pop Up Shop

On Wednesday, August 16th, I attended the media preview for the Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Beauty Pop Up Shop. The pop up shop is a retail space open to consumers from 11am-7pm August 17th-19th at 2 Rivington (between Bowery and Chrystie) with exclusive events after hours, coinciding with the Olympics

Sephora’s most buzzed and deliciously Brazilian beauty brand, Sol de Janeiro, brings a Brazilian beach party to NYC for 3 days only with an experiential pop up shop in the Lower East Side.

The story of Sol de Janeiro’s luxe, easygoing lifestyle will be told through a variety of creative visual elements utilizing organic materials and tech, while the space is transformed into an authentic Brazilian experience that makes you feel like you are on the shores of Rio.

The pop up showcases the brand’s three most sought after products bringing the beauty secrets of Brazil to life. Among the three products are Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, Samba 2-Step Foot Fetish Care, and Brazilian Golden Body Veil.

The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is clearly the star product that's super moisturizing with an addictive Pistachio Caramel fragrance and a touch of mica for an immediate Brazilian glow. It also helps tighten and smooth so it's perfect for those end of summer trips to the beach or lounging at the pool.

I also got to preview Sol de Janeiro's newest limited edition products coming this fall to Sephora & sephora.com: Brazilian Body Boom gift set, including Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel and Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (launches in September for $55.00), and Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Beauty on the Go, with a travel size Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and new Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter (launches in October for $25).

Sol de Janeiro's products are infused with Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Beauty Blend of nourishing Cupuaçu Butter, antioxidant superpower Açai and skin conditioning Coconut Oil.

Right next door to the 3 day pop up shop is trendy lower east side ice cream parlor Morgenstern's, creating a special limited edition "Brazilian Bum Bum" flavor inspired by the deliciously addictive Pistachio caramel fragrance of the products.

Additionally, Sol de Janeiro has a special offer: 15% off purchase for consumers and a free deluxe sample of the most talked about Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

Target Wonderland Pop-Up in NYC

On Monday, December 7th, I attended the Target Wonderland launch party in the Meatpacking neighborhood, at 70 10th Avenue & West 15th Street. The 16,000-square foot pop-up is part-store, part-holiday playground.

The pop-up features a jumbo Etch-a-Sketch, a Christmas tree made from 320 green foam Hulk hands, the S.S. Free Shipping LEGO pirate ship spotted in Target's holiday commercials, and games involving Star Wars' Millennium Falcon and BB-8.

Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigan, Kristen Bell and Malin Ackerman were among the celebrities in attendance. During the party, guests enjoyed milk chocolate coated rice crispy trees, spiked apple cider, hot chocolate bar with Baileys and Kahlua and glittery flash tattoos. Guests also posed with Target's mascot, Bullseye, got their photo taken at the Tsum Tsum photo booth and customized their own instant ornaments.

Upon entering the space, guests receive a custom lanyard and digital Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) key for scanning the mini bullseye tag on any displayed items that catch their eye. The scanned items are added to a digital shopping list, in which guests can check out and purchase at the end of their adventure.

Target Wonderland is free and open to the public until December 22nd with the following hours:
  • Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm.
  • Sunday, 10am to 6pm

It's definitely worth checking out and fun for the whole family!
