Beauty Tips from ZYRTEC for ALLERGY FACE Hosted by Jordana Brewster and Jamie Greenberg

My beauty look: a cross between The Weekender and The Charmer, perfect for an office daytime look

On March 29th, The makers of ZYRTEC invited media guests for a morning of beauty tips to tackle spring allergy season, hosted by actress Jordana Brewster and makeup artist Jamie Greenberg at the Gramercy Park Hotel. Following the session, guests were welcome to custom ALLERGY FACE makeovers from partner-on-demand beGlammed.

During our session, Jordana and Jamie gave us an exclusive first look at all-new beauty looks for allergy sufferers. These looks are available exclusively on the beGlammed website and app through June 7th.

There are three beauty looks for allergy sufferers:
The Weekender: A light, natural look
The Charmer: Flirty, daytime look
The Stunner: Bold look with a bright lip and smoky eye

The Weekender beauty steps:

1.  Applying a tinted moisturizer, to hydrate and reduce the look of puffiness, caused by allergies, 2. 2.  Dabbing a color correcting concealer to cover up redness, especially around your nose.
3.  Cream blush in a soft pink or peach to give your cheeks a rosy glow.
4.  Make your eyes appear more open by curling your lashes and applying waterproof black mascara.
5.  Apply a tinted lip balm, using your fingertip for a subtler look.
6.  Spritz a setting spray to so makeup stays put all day and skin looks smooth but not shiny.

The Charmer beauty steps:

1. Apply a medium-coverage foundation to hide redness and visibly even out skin tone.
2.  Apply a brow volumizing fiber gel for a slightly fuller look.
3.  Swipe neutral-toned eyeshadow on eyelids and under your eye, fill in your lash line with a thin brown eyeliner to define the eyes. Apply waterproof mascara to upper and lower lashes.
4.  To reduce the look of puffiness, apply highlighter to the cheekbones.
5. Finish with a nude blush cheek color and soft lip color

The Stunner beauty steps:

1.  Use a green-tinted concealer to help cancel out redness. Apply a full-coverage foundation followed by a translucent powder to help set the foundation.
2.  Define your brows with a brow pencil to frame your face and distract from the puffiness.
3. Apply a dark blended eye shadow for a smoky look and cat eye with waterproof black eyeliner. Finish the eyes with a waterproof mascara - a must for dealing with watery eyes from allergies - and some false lashes for a bolder, more dramatic look.
4. Take down the appearance of puffiness by contouring your face using flushed cheeks with slight highlight.
5. Apply a bold lip.

Launch of ZYRTEC ALLERGY FACE Beauty Kit with Jordana Brewster

On Wednesday, March 23rd, I celebrated the launch of ZYRTEC® ALLERGY FACE® Beauty Kit with Jordana Brewster and celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg at Nomo Soho. Guests received makeovers by Glamsquad, and a gift bag including the ZYRTEC® ALLERGY FACE® Beauty Kit and GLAMSQUAD and Gilt gift cards.

Jamie Greenberg unveiled the ZYRTEC® ALLERGY FACE® Beauty Kit to attendees, and shared her spring beauty tips for allergy sufferers.

Here are some of my Jamie's spring allergy beauty tips:

- WHEN dealing with watery eyes, be sure to apply mascara by starting at the root of your lashes and drawing the wand upwards in one steady motion. Avoid wiggling the wand or blinking, as that can cause eyes to water even more and leave you with smudges.

- ANOTHER option is to use disposable mascara wands every time you apply mascara. You will avoid allergens and other build-up that can occur on reusable wands.

- A BOLD, glossy lip is a great way to distract from watery eyes, especially when you don't feel like wearing a lot of makeup. Start by linking your lips with a bold-colored pencil before applying a matte lipstick. Add a little texture with a silky, sheer gloss to seal in color and move the focus to your lips.

- APPLYING cool moisturizer may help reduce puffiness caused by allergies, so store moisturizer in your refrigerator. Before bedtime, remove all your makeup with a gentle cleanser and apply the cool cream to your face to soothe and nourish skin during the night.

- ALWAYS choose a wipeable makeup bag like this ALLERGY FACE® Cosmetic Bag. It is easy to clean and should be sanitized frequently. The pros keep extra makeup-removing towelettes on hand, as they can help reduce allergens and keep the interior and exterior of your makeup bag tidy.

- VERY OFTEN oils, allergens and other residue can build up in our makeup palettes, which can cause irritation. To avoid this issue, lay a transparent adhesive tape over the powder and remove to take off the debris from the top.

- TO MINIMIZE allergens, opt for pencils that require sharpening instead of twist-up products. If you sharpen liner pencils before every use, you can ensure you always start with a clean layer of makeup.

Recap: VIP Gilt City Warehouse Sale - April 2015

On Friday, April 24th, I attended the anticipated Gilt City Warehouse Sale held at Metropolitan West at 639 West 46th Street. Shoppers enjoyed 80% off retail while sipping on Ruby Red Citrus and Pineapple Mandarin Orange Palm Breeze sparkling spritzes, La Marca Prosecco and Darkhorse wines in Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Red Blend and Cabernet. Icelandic Glacial natural spring water, In/Fusion iced herbal tea in Peach - Vervaine - Lemon and Pomegranate - Blackcurrant - Blackcurrant leaf - Peppermint as well as Crazy Hot Potato popchips were also complimentary to attendees.

During the sale, I stopped by to visit with ZYRTEC® Brand celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg, as she shared spring-inspired tips and makeup looks to combat ALLERGY FACE® beauty challenges. For my makeup look, I went with 'gilted glamour'.

With Jamie Greenberg

Here are tips to get the 'gilted glamour' look:

Eyes: Apply a gold shadow all over the top eyelid and use black shadow in the corners to achieve a smoky effect. For darker skin tones, blend a reddish hue with the gold to create a shimmery look. Apply black waterproof eyeliner on the top eyelid and brown on the bottom, just to define the eyes. Finish with black waterproof mascara. If possible opt for fake lashes to provide a bolder, more dramatic nighttime look.

Skin: When applying foundation, be sure to fully cover the face so it lasts throughout the day. Also pay special attention to color-correcting any uneven skin tones due to ALLERGY FACE® beauty challenges, using green or yellow-tinted concealers that help cancel out redness.

Brows: Fill in brows for a full look which will help frame your face, and distract from watery eyes and puffiness.

Cheeks: Lightly contour the face using bronze and pinkish-nude cheek colors; contouring is the perfect tool for counteracting the appearance of puffiness due to allergies.

Lips: Choose a pink or nude lip stain. For darker complexions, choose a gloss with glitter instead, to tie the look together and stand out.

Once I was set with my makeup look, I was ready to shop! Check out the images below from my shopping haul. This new venue for the sale was definitely more spacious and had a welcoming layout for guests to approach sponsored brands. Since the VIP Night was changed to a ticketed event, it was quite the line to get into the sale. I suggest making sure you get to the next sale as early as possible. But one thing is for sure, I never leave empty-handed!

ALLERGY FACE™ Beauty Tips

Last month I joined Zyrtec and Celebrity Makeup Artist  Jamie Greenberg at the ALLERGY FACE™ Beauty Counter at the Macy's Flower Show for a one-on-one beauty makeover. Jamie took me through spring-inspired "looks" and tips and tricks to combat allergy-related beauty challenges like water eyes and a red nose.

For my beauty makeover, I went with the "Nighttime Statement" look. A smoky eye helps when you are having a puffy eye day. Since I wear contact lenses, my eyes may sometime get watery during allergy season, causing my eyeliner to run. Jamie recommends using a waterproof eyeliner, applying it close to the lashes and setting it with eye shadow. Products used for my "Nighttime Statement" look include:

Skin: Benefit Cosmetics fakeup medium #2
Brows: Benefit Cosmetics gimme brow medium/deep
Eyes: Benefit Cosmetics Big Beautiful Eyes Kit /
BADgal liner waterproof - black
Cheeks: Benefit Cosmetics Hervana
Lips: Benefit Cosmetics hoola ultra plush

Click on these additional spring-inspired "looks" for step-by-step tips on how to create them. The "fresh-faced & fabulous" look will help with redness of the nose.

The "red carpet ready" look is inspired by actress and long-time allergy sufferer, Debra Messing. This look is for those whose allergy-related beauty challenge is a red nose. This look will play down redness by enhancing your eyes and using a makeup highlighter on your skin.

This "cat eye chic" look is a timeless classic that allows you to focus on making a statement with your eyes.

Try the "barest beauty" look for color correcting redness and contouring your face.

If you suffer from watery eyes, the "hollywood siren" look allows for less makeup on the eyes and draws focus to a bold, red lip coupled with a contoured face.
