New York Fashion Week Lounges Roundup

Here's a roundup of some of the New York Fashion Week lounges! From primping to food and refreshments, it's a great way to enjoy some down time in between shows!

The Elizabeth Arden Red Door Bus offered complimentary on-the-spot hair styling, makeovers and manicures and served up breakfast and lunch, right around the corner from Lincoln Center.

The Men's Style Retreat, presented by New Era was held at the Empire Hotel on September 13th & 14th, with Skin Spa providing complimentary massages and facials, Christo Salon NYC styling hair and La Casa Grande Tobacco Company hand rolling cigars. The lounge wouldn't be complete without music by DJ Skooby and drinks by Purity Vodka. Tommy Bahama showcased some upcoming apparel pieces, watches, sunglasses and other accessories. Media and VIP guests picked out their favorite New Era caps and fedoras.

The Porsche Design lounge provided food and refreshments as well as a look at the spring collection, including leather jackets and colored denim.

Walter Spring 2012

Walter Baker hosted his Spring 2012 Fashion Presentation during New York Fashion Week on September 12th at The Empire Hotel Rooftop lounge.

Walter Spring 2012 focuses on mixing textures and dimensions. The ultimate Walter girl is a city girl a trendsetter that is looking for cool, hip and fun to wear clothing.

The collection includes color blocking, pleats, lace and tweed. The coolest look is shear texture, airy transparency with a mixture of color. The palette includes a mix of vivid color, black and white with neutrals and blue paired with brown.

Nautica Spring 2012

Nautica Spring 2012 is inspired by a California road trip, from cruising up the California Coast from Malibu, to surfing Big Sur.

The collection includes a bright palette of coral, red, orange, yellow, green and bright blue, seen on cotton color blocked polos, henleys and hoodies, nylon trenches and sailing parkas, and neutral colors for more classic Nautica pieces such as white poplin cargo shorts and pants, white slim jeans, grey shawl collar sweater with leather elbow patches, indigo chambray blazer, blue oxford blazer and stone suede bomber.

Board shorts feature color blocking, stripes or a watercolor sail print. Other swim trunk options include watercolor shell or coral watercolor crab prints.

ARTISTRY® Beauty Lounge During New York Fashion Week

The ARTISTRY® Beauty Lounge at Empire Hotel was a relaxing getaway between shows at New York Fashion Week. Media guests were introduced to an exclusive beauty bar, hand and chair massages and makeovers from one of the world's top-five, largest selling premium skincare brands, ARTISTRY®, exclusively from Amway. Complimentary Wi-Fi and refreshments were also available.

Guests indulged in a 15-minute eye lift with Creme LuXury Eye, which launches November 1, 2011 and offers a 360 degree transformation around the upper and lower eye areas, that helps skin act up to 15 years younger.

This was the first time I had experienced any ARTISTRYV products and I was amazed at how luxurious everything was, from the Creme LuXury Eye to the Automatic Eyeliner and Eyebrow Pencil Holders and Refills to the Light Up Lip Gloss with a built in mirror and LED light. The light appears as soon as you start to unscrew the wand. I love it! I can't say I have another lip gloss that lights up. I've received so many compliments on it!

Other products I also recommend trying:
- Time Defiance Cleansing Treatment - restores moisture balance and refreshes the skin
- Time Defiance Conditioning Toner - gently exfoliates the skin
- Time Defiance Day Protect Creme SPF15
- Time Defiance Night Recovery Creme
- Powder Compact and 3D Face Powder Refill

You can purchase or learn more about ARTISTRY® products through an Amway Independent Business Owner or shop online ay Amway.com/artistry. Artistry can also be found at facebook.com/artistryus and via twitter @artistrybeauty.

Mackage Spring / Summer 2012 Collection

Mackage Spring / Summer 2012 is well tailored with a play on different textures, adding a lightness to leather and sharper form to satin and linen. The palette is inspired by the soft, serene shades of dusk, including gray, nude, pewter, sand, camel, smoke, ink, indigo, black and white.

Some of my favorite looks include the nude leather jacket over off white silk chiffon sleeveless top and fold over moon pant, smoke print sheer dress under a black boyfriend blazer with leather collar, black leather bustier crack print dress and off white pleated silk chiffon top with black pant with leather waistband and buckles.

What Goes Around Comes Around Spring 2012

What Goes Around Comes Around's Spring 2012 vintage-inspired collection centers on the "world traveler who effortlessly packs for a trip, from Buenos Aires to a safari in Tanzania, then onto the beautiful Gold Coast of Long Island," with Lauren Hutton visualized on this journey.

The collection involves three different color stories, starting in Buenos Aires with a rich and ethnic palette stemming in jade, along with red, gold and black. Next in Africa, a soft shade of tea is highlighted by rich colors of cobalt, rust and chartreuse. The final landing along the Gold Coast brings out white, turquoise lavender and sea green.

You'll see Victorian inspired lace, pin tuck and crochet details on tops, skirts and dresses, vintage floral prints, leather and suede, and hand beaded and embroidered pieces, drawing from the 20s/30s.

The vibrant colors and prints look gorgeous on the long skirt and dress silhouettes, with tassel necklaces and belts adding that vintage feel.
