MOMENTUM by Timo Weiland for Crowne Plaza at Kia STYLE360 NYFW

The MOMENTUM by Timo Weiland for Crowne Plaza runway show took place on Tuesday, September 12th during Kia STYLE360 NYFW at Metropolitan West. The show kicked off with a performance by Ocean Park Standoff.

MOMENTUM by Timo Weiland is a new wardrobe collection for hotel team members. The collaboration is part of the Crowne Plaza Accelerate program, a $200 million, three-year initiative created to place the hotel brand at the forefront of the way modern business travelers want to do business. 

Crowne Plaza Americas' Style Directors Timo Weiland, Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang named the collection MOMENTUM to represent the Crowne Plaza brand's commitment to being a design-led, culturally relevant and technology-driven brand. Cintas,the world's largest supplier of hotel uniforms, was chosen to manufacture the collection. 

To best showcase the new wardrobe collection, four frontline hotel team members nominated by their fellow employees were selected to walk the runway. 

The looks for the show were broken down into outfits for valet, doorman and bellman, front desk, food & beverage: servers & host, food & beverage: bartenders, and Timo Weiland signature modern classics. 

Here's a look at some of the key pieces for each hotel team function looks:

Valet: baseball caps, polos, banded knit cardigans and chino pants

Doorman and bellman: fitted texture dress shirts, solid knit ties and chino pants

Front desk: stripe knit ties, non-iron blouses, blazers and Jay Godfrey Greenwich pants

Food and beverage: servers & host: short sleeved white shirts and Metropolitan Aprons

Food & beverage: bartenders: non-iron blouses, chino pants, bib aprons, and solid knit ties

Backstage at MOMENTUM by Timo Weiland for Crowne Plaza at Kia STYLE360 NYFW

Backstage at MOMENTUM by Timo Weiland for Crowne Plaza, models were getting prepped by lead hair stylist Michele Carrillo for Not Your Mother's and lead makeup artist James Vincent for MustaeV. 

The hair look for women was very natural with a soft bend to the hair. There was not much of a  focus on volume. The stylists worked with the natural texture of the hair, using Not Your Mother's Double Take Dry Finish Spray. Hair on both sides needed to look identical, yet some models had their hair tucked behind the ear. 

The hair look for men was clean, refined and natural, with a defined semi gloss hair part and minimal product applied.

Helen Castillo New York Spring / Summer 2018 at Kia STYLE360 NYFW

The Helen Castillo New York Spring / Summer 2018 runway show presented by Chapstick during Kia STYLE360 NYFW took place on September 12th at Metropolitan West. The Spring / Summer 2018 is inspired by a clash between Grace Kelly and Speed Racer. The collection includes a mix of Victorian details, modern romance and elegance, with pleating and sequin detailing. The palette includes soft tones of baby blue, blush, grey and pops of chrome blue and citrine. 

Castillo partnered with Cape Robbin shoes to complete the looks including crystal-beaded and pearl-adorned heels, fishnet booties, and thigh high boots in blush and silver chrome. Earrings featured in the show are by Anita Berisha jewelry. Hair and makeup were provided by Not Your Mother's and James Vincent.

Not Your Mother's Hair Look for Helen Castillo New York Spring / Summer 2018 at Kia STYLE360 NYFW

Not Your Mother's created the hair looks for Helen Castillo New York Spring / Summer 2018 presented by Chapstick, at Kia STYLE360. The hair look centered on a finger wave design on the forehead, and no hair part. The rest of the hair is curled and combed out once the hair has cooled, for a more glam effect in the back of the hair for a Grace Kelly inspired look.

Raul Peñaranda Spring / Summer 2017 at Kia STYLE360 NYFW

Raul Peñaranda showcased his Spring/Summer 2017 Collection "Momentum" at Kia STYLE360 during New York Fashion Week. The ready-to-wear collection is inspired by "Classic Cuba" 50's pin up with a modern twist, for the spontaneous and strong opinionated woman who knows what she wants. After the show, guests made their way to the Kia STYLE360 Lounge, where they got a closer look at some of the sponsors. including Not Your Mother's, sampling Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, MustaeV previewed new sheet masks -Whitening Joy Mask, Cooling Anger Mask, Vitamin Sadness Mask and Moisture-Lifting Pleasure Mask, and LimeLight by Alcone highlighted skin car products - Liquid Sunshine Moisturizing Bronzing Lotion, Calm Balm face balm and Must Dew face oil, as well as Perfect Lipstick shades. OtterBox showcased iPhone 6/6S cases including the Strada Series with snakeskin leather, Symmetry Series Crystal Edition with genuine Swarovski crystals, and Project Runway: All Stars designer cases.
