Favorite Aluminum Free Deodorants

I don't know about you, but it's always been a struggle for me to find a deodorant that actually works, doesn't cause irritation and redness or doesn't leave a residue on clothes. After trying out different ones, I've finally narrowed down my favorites.

type:A™ deodorant is made with sweat-activated technology and 100% natural active ingredients, and is aluminum-free, paraben free, 100% non-toxic and cruelty-free. The organic vegetable-derived glycerin and arrowroot powder absorb sweat, aloe hydrates and soothes , while zeolite (a mineral compound) and baking soda help neutralize odor. It's unlike any deodorant I've ever experienced, since you squeeze out deodorant cream from the tube and apply a thin layer. It's unique because you use just as much as you need. Since it's a deodorant cream, I prefer to use this especially for working out and during summer months. This deodorant works all day, and has a refreshing clean crisp citron scent but also comes in a 100% fragrance- and essential-oil free formula. The type:A™ deodorant 2.8 oz size is very affordable at $10, and also comes in a 1.2 oz travel size for $6.

Kopari Coconut Deodorant, $11.90, glides on clear and non-sticky, with a fresh coconut milk scent. It's made with a unique blend of coconut water, coconut oil, and sage oil to smoothe and hydrate underarms. Since this goes on clear, I like wearing this with knit tops or fitted dresses. This deodorant is aluminum-free, with no baking soda, no parabens, no silicone and no phthalates.

Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant is made with a refreshing natural eucalyptus extract and odor-neutralizing citronellyl. It goes on clear without any residue and is aluminum-free, and formulated without alcohol or parabens. The regular size is $22 for the 2.6 oz size and $14 for the 1.0 oz size, which is my top choice for bringing on work trips and vacations.

Zatik Odor Defense Roll-On Deodorant, $6, is aluminum free and naturally neutralizes and fights bacteria using a blend of organic herbal extracts, clays, salts and oils. This deodorant goes on clear and comes in a refreshing Lavender & Moringa scent.

Update: I went to the sale on 12/28, and when I got there, there wasn't much Dr. Jart+ left. I washoping to pick up some of the Dermasks but they were all gone. The only Dr. Jart+ products that were left were Dis-APore BB, Illuminating BB Brush and Air Mesh. Stila was picked over as well. All I ended up getting was the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Paradiso for $8 and the Fringe With Benefits duo of the Star Light, Star Lash Glitter Top Coat & HUGE Extreme Lash Mascara for $8.

Last-Minute 2018 Holiday Beauty Favorites

Since I always procrastinate on my holidays shopping, I always find myself posting gift guides right up through Christmas! Although I don't do it often, I'll even splurge on next day shipping if I really am pressed for time. But one thing that's in common with all my items in this last-minute gift guide is that Rituals, Aveda, Origins and NaturaBrasil are all accessible to me at Garden State Plaza and these I love visiting all these stores when I'm at the mall!

Rituals Ritual of Hammam Purifying Treatment gift set, $29.50 is both affordable and luxurious! Any of the scents from Rituals will help you achieve that spa-at-home experience, but The Ritual of Hammam is my favorite, with the energizing scent of fresh eucalyptus and rosemary to start your day. This set comes in a beautiful keepsake box and includes a refreshing foaming shower gel, black soap, body cream,  and hand wash. I've never tried the black soap yet, which combines eucalyptus with olive oil. The texture is paste-like, which you massage into your skin for 5-10 minutes as it removes old skin cells, and can be used with the body scrub or Kessa glove.

Aveda's Rosemary Mint has been a favorite shampoo and conditioner of mine for years, and was truly excited once I learned that Aveda launched the Cherry Almond Shampoo and Conditioner, $17 each! The Cherry Almond scent is phenomenal (Aveda just always gets their scents right). The aroma has 38 flower and plant essences including tonka bean, certified organic orange and ylang ylang. I just starting using this but have noticed an increase in softness and shine. I had actually had an Aveda in-store hair consultation and they recommended I try this shampoo and conditioner to combat any breakage and dryness I was experiencing with my hair, especially for the winter months. This also comes in travel size! Aveda's travel size products are great for stocking stuffers,  creating a custom gift set of travel size products, and trying out products before upgrading to the full size!

For the beauty lover, you should check out Aveda's Feed My Lips™ Pure Nourish-mint™ Lipstick, $24 each! These lipsticks are 95% naturally derived and long-wearing with nourishing certified organic cupuaçu fruit butter and botanicals. My favorite shade is Tayberry blushed plum with a peppermint aroma/flavor. I love how creamy and saturated this lipstick is - I've gotten so many compliments on this shade already!

My favorite holiday gift set from Origins this season is the Youth Renewing Musts, $45 ($84 value). Origins Plantscription™ Anti-Aging Power Serum is one of my favorite serums ever, and this set also comes with the Plantscription™ Powerful Lifting Cream and Plantscription™ Anti-Aging Power Eye Cream to complete your skincare regimen.

If you've never stepped into a NaturaBrasil store, I recommend you make a visit (stores at Garden State Plaza in NJ and Elizabeth Street, NYC) and explore their amazing scents. This Castanha Trasures gift set, $55 is a perfect introduction to the brand including an exfoliating soap,  hand cream, shower body milk, and body lotion. NaturaBrasil's hand lotion is what got me hooked on the brand. Their lotion is super creamy and rich, and will definitely keep your hands moisturized this winter season!
