Ann Taylor Spring 2011 is Here!

It's the first day of spring! Now I'm just waiting until the weather gets warmer to enjoy wearing more skirts, dresses, peep-toe shoes and sandals.

I stopped by Ann Taylor's concept store on 149 Fifth Avenue, to check out the hot new trends for spring, with a focus on black and white, bronze, khaki, leopard prints and a pop of citrine (my newest favorite color this season)!

At the top of my must-have list is this
Fringe Party Skirt, $158.

Navy is the new go-to color for spring, combined with white in a mix of textures, patterns and styles.

Moves Magazine's 2011 Spring Issue Launch Party Hosted by Aaron Eckhart

Aaron Eckhart and Moves Magazine Publisher Moonah Ellison

On Thursday, March 10th, Aaron Eckhart hosted the Moves Magazine Spring Cover Party at Plein Sud, The Smyth Hotel.

Aaron was extremely charming and a delight to interview. Such a nice guy, he was being whisked away to the airport and didn't forget that I wanted to interview him. Last weekend I saw Battle: Los Angeles, which is highly recommend if you love action movies. I thought it was a combination of Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Terminator Salvation and Black Hawk Down. Aaron has always been one of my favorite actors and his performance was great in Battle: Los Angeles. I would love to see him in more action films.

Here's my interview with Aaron as he discusses being on the set of Battle: Los Angeles

The launch party also featured Moves Magazine's fourth annual Personal Chef competitors, including winners Darlene Rodriguez and Dale Talde. News anchors were paired with chefs, as the three teams battled it out with three main ingredients, three courses prepared in thirty minutes and three judges. The competition was held at The James Beard House in the West Village.

Spa Week is Back! Book Your $50 Treatments!

Spa Week is here in just a few weeks! From April 11th - 17th, you can enjoy your favorite spa treatments for just $50.

If you are looking for a new spa treatment, I highly recommend trying one of Jurlique's facials. Two weeks ago I had a rejuvenating Signature Aromatherapy Facial at the 477 Madison Avenue location. Elizabeth customized my facial to my skin's needs, as my main concern was hydration. She was so gentle when it came to doing the extractions - it was completely painless! The d'colletage massage is always a favorite part of a facial for me and it was so relaxing!

When I got back to the office one of my colleagues was amazed that I had just gotten a facial and my skin showed no signs of redness or irritation, just glowing and radiant skin! Jurlique's products are very gentle and I love the aromatherapy scents! Elizabeth had incorporated some of the products from their new Purely White Skin Brightening line into my facial. I have already added some of the new line to my daily skin care regimen.

Jurlique is participating in Spa Week with $50 facials! Go to SpaWeek.com to learn more or to view other participating spas/services. Treat yourself, because you deserve it!

Bally Benefit for the Georges Malaika Foundation

On March 7th, I attended the benefit for the Georges Malaika Foundation at the Bally store at 628 Madison. Guests enjoyed wine, champagne and hors d'oeuvres.

The Georges Malaika Foundation (GMF) is all about empoweing African girls through education. The goals of the foundation are to sponsor young girls financially so that they can attend school, provide full tuition, meals and school supplies, build well-equipped schools and to offer college scholarships to top students.

Construction has already begun on the Georges Malaika Foundation School, a well-equipped, self sustained school in Democratic Republic of Congo. This school will serve as a prototype for similar schools when the foundation expands educational facilities throughout Africa. You can learn more about the Georges Malaika Foundation at
gmfafrica.org.

Here's a look at my favorite Bally accessories for Spring, including color-blocked shoes and clutches in spring-popping slate blue, yellow, green and brick red, with most of the collection set in neutral colors of white, black and camel and dove grey. You can shop the spring Bally collection at bally.com.

Lia Sophia Lounge - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2011

I absolutely love Lia Sophia's new red carpet collection,
Industrielle, which was showcased at the Lia Sophia Lounge at the Empire Hotel during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2011. The line includes modern, eye-catching statement pieces with a Victorian flare.

Guests at the lounge were gifted a piece of their choice. The Global Tassel Necklace and Rough Necklace were my two favorite necklaces, but I decided to go with the Standing Ovation Earrings in polished silver with clear crystals. I was looking for the perfect evening piece that is suitable for my petite frame.
