Ann Taylor Holiday 2010

I've been way behind on reporting on holiday previews, but the good news is these items either are already available or will be making their way into Ann Taylor stores soon! I don't know about you but I haven't even started on my own holiday wishlist (let alone gifts I have to buy for other people) but I definitely spotted my favorites.

I try to make sure each season I shop for a mixture of classic pieces I know I can keep in my wardrobe season after season but also treat myself to some trendy pieces that add some flare. Tunics and cowl neck tops always work for my frame, and I love adding at least one jacket or skirt, but always look for something that doesn't resemble what I already own. Nothing beats finding something that has the perfect fit - you'd be amazed at how much I save by not having to hem pieces! I always look to accessories to complete my outfit , by wearing a belt, necklace, bracelet or scarf (just make sure you don't over-accessorize).

Let's not forget shoes! Shoes is something I'd be willing to spend a little more on because they have to be comfortable! I am always looking for a fall/winter leather boot to add to my collection, as well as a 4-inch heel to wear with a fab dress and of course make myself look taller!

Jewelry and hair accessories are up to 80% off at the Colette Malouf sample sale! Crochet cord bangles are $28 (originally $120), crystal mesh headbands are $24 (originally $120), and bicolor mesh diamond headbands are $18 (originally $88).

Burt's Bees New Body Lotions

Last month I attended the launch of Burt's Bees new body lotions at The Park. The new and improved lotions have been reformulated to be 99% natural, and include Fragrance Free Shea Butter & Vitamin E, Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey and Soothingly Sensitive Aloe & Buttermilk. Burt's Bees lotions are non-greasy, hydrating and moisturize for up to 24 hours.

My favorite is the Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey body lotion, which is for normal to dry skin. I received a complimentary hand massage at the preview and was able to see for myself how the lotion absorbs into my skin and how soft it makes my hands feel.

I've never tried the original Burt's Bees lotions so I really can't compare between the original and new and improved versions. All I can say is that I am pleased with the new lotions. I usually go for the sweet, fruit fragrances but it's nice to change it up every once in a while and try something new.

"Inside the mark Studio with Ashley Greene"

Ashley Greene, known for playing Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga, is the new mark. brand ambassador.

On November 11th, I attended the "Inside the mark Studio with Ashley Greene" event at Glass Houses, in which Suchin Pak interviewed Ashley about her favorite mark products, style inspirations, and experiences as an actress.

Here are a few things I learned about Ashley during her interview:

• She had originally auditioned for the role of Bella
• She's on Team Edward! (That's a no-brainer since she plays Edward's sister)
• Her secret to looking fabulous on-the-go besides drinking plenty of water is using mark Light Bright Lighten & Depuff Eye Gel
• Her first job was working at a dry cleaner, at age 14. Before becoming an actress she also worked as a hostess at restaurants, at a hotel and at a bowling alley
• If she wasn't an actress she would want to be a psychologist

Shiseido Pop-Up Shop - One Week Only!

Shiseido's limited edition beauty boutique opened to the public on Friday, November 12th, and will be open from 11am-7pm daily through November 19th. It's located at 989 3rd avenue at 59th street, right across from Bloomingdale's. There is one whole floor devoted to skincare and another floor devoted to makeup.

Levi's® Meatpacking Store Opening Party

Levi's® held a VIP party on November 11th, to celebrate their new store opening in the Meatpacking District, at 414 West 14th Street.

The opening also spotlights the recent arrival of the Levi's® Workwear by Pendleton collection. The store includes an on-site tailor for custom denim doctor-ing and repairs, and will stock a great deal of limited-edition items, including archival 501 re-issues from the hard-to-get Levi's® Vintage Clothing collection, as well a wide range of limited-edition pieces from their collaborative collections and even special items unique to the store.

I didn't stay for the performance of Vivian Girls, but I am sure it was great!
