Sunglass Hut Grand Opening in Times Square with Georgia May Jagger

During New York Fashion Week on September 10th, I celebrated the grand opening of Sunglass Hut's new Times Square location at 1540 Broadway at 45th Street. Attendees included Global Brand Ambassador Georgia May Jagger, model Theodora Richards, Olivia Munn of HBO's The Newsroom, The Carrie Diaries' AnnaSophia Robb and Adam Levine's new protegee, singer Rozzi Crane.

Guests enjoyed beats by DJ Ruckus and a performance by Rozzi Crane with high-flying aerialists.

During the party, Sunglass Hut's "Come and Play" folding sunglass campaign was unveiled, starring Georgia May Jagger and her boyfriend, model and musician Josh McLellan. Shot in NYC with fashion photographer Terry Richardson, the campaign showcases a variety of innovative sunglass styles that can fold, bend and fit in your pocket.

The 1,423 square foot Sunglass Hut Times Square store boasts nearly 1,600 pairs of sunglasses. The expanded assortment of luxury, designer, lifestyle and performance brands include Bvlgari, Burberry, Chanel, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, Miu Miu, Oakley, Persol, Prada, Prada Linea Rossa, Ray-Ban, Tiffany & Co., Tory Burch, Versace and Vogue Eyewear.

Summer 2013 Eyewear Trends from William Rast, Marciano, Guess, Candie's, Gant and Harley-Davidson

With fall season a few weeks away, it's a great time hit up those summer sales and stock up on accessories such as eyeglasses and sunglasses. William Rast, Marciano, Guess, Candie's, Gant and Harley-Davidson are some of the diverse fashion eyewear brands developed by Viva International Group develops. Here's a look at some of this summer's eyewear trends, including animal prints, color blocking, rhinestone accents and retro styles. William Rast is one of my favorite brands, especially when it comes to eyeglasses. My summer pick is WR 1069 in a two tone plum color, with an oval, cat-eye shape. This is more like a bordeaux/wine color to me, which is a popular color for fall. The WR 1069 is a classic style that can be worn all year round.

Polaroid's 75th Anniversary Party at MoMA

Last night guests celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Polaroid and previewed the new Polaroid Plus Sunglasses Collection at the Museum of Modern Art with Carson Kressley and Whitney Port in attendance. The Misshapes deejayed while drinks flowed with Disaronno - love the Disaronno mixed with blood orange and prosecco!

TC Charton Asian Fit Eyewear

At The Accessory Lounge at Style360 during New York Fashion Week, I met with designer Alexandra Peng of TC Charton Asian Fit Eyewear. TC Charton creates stylish and luxurious eyewear for Asians and people from many other ethnic backgrounds, addressing fit issues like a lower nose bridge or higher cheekbones.

TC Charton is now my go-to for sunglasses and prescription glasses. The fit on my TC Charton Crystal sunglasses are so comfortable and don't slide off of my face. They fit so well they feel like they are customized for my face! I just love the concept of eyewear designed to fit Asian characteristics. The eyewear is super chic, with many stylish frames to choose from.

SEE Soho Boutique Launch

Last month I attended the launch of the SEE Soho boutique at 423 West Broadway. I was amazed at the fashionable selection of eyewear and sunglasses, with an exclusive, limited quantity available in each style/color every season.

SEE, which stands for Selective Eyewear Elements is voted "Best eyewear" coast to coast, with sunglasses at $99 and eyeglasses ranging between $169-339 depending on the prescription.

The best part of shopping at SEE is that their entire prescription eyewear collection is priced at $169 and includes a single vision prescription lens! High index (thin) lenses are available at an additional cost, ranging between $70-184.

Eye exams can be scheduled at the SEE boutique with one of their independent Doctors of Optometry. Comprehensive eyeglass exams are $69. Cost with insurance varies depending on the insurance plan.

If you can't make it to SEE Soho, SEE has two other NYC locations at 207 Columbus Avenue and 312 Bleecker. Other locations include California, Colorado, D.C., Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. Learn more about SEE at seeeyewear.com.

I can't wait to go back to SEE and get a new pair of eyeglasses! I tried on dozens of frames and sunglasses. These were two of my favorites! I love all the unique, colorful frames featuring tortoise, marble, streak, gradient, dual-toned and ombre designs. Usually it's hard for me to find one pair of frames I like and I found several! They carry all different sized frames, so it was very easy to find a style suitable for my face.

Here's a look at some of my favorite eyeglasses and sunglasses this season:

Betsey Johnson Fall 2011 Accessories Collections

My favorites from Betsey Johnson Fall 2011 collection have to be the shoes, including pumps in bold colors and floral and leopard prints, ballet flats and wedge booties. The shoes come in patent leather, leather and cow hair.

I also love the earrings, chunky heart and bow rings and necklaces such as the
Crystal Elephant Necklace ($75) and owl watches.

There are also a ton of readers and sunglasses, printed scarves, legwear, clutches and bags, embellished cold weather accessories, belts, robes and chemises.
