Review: MLA Skincare

To switch up my skincare regimen this summer, I've been using MLA Skincare. This line is perfect me, as it focuses on ant-aging skin care. MLA Skincare also offers antioxidant protection, treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots, redness, and under-eye puffiness and circles. The line consists of the Power Cream, Multivitamin Serum, Brightening Serum, Soothing Serum and Eye Serum. I love the fact that you can layer the serums together and it still manages to all feel lightweight. This skin care line works for all skin types, even the most sensitive skin. 

The Multivitamin Serum ($85) hydrates and renews, revealing new skin cells without AHAs and provides a fresher more even look. The Brightening Serum ($85) works without potential irritants Hydroquinone or AHAs to even skin tone, color, texture and reduce the appearance of blotchy skin. The Soothing Serum ($85) has been specifically formulated to prevent and reduce the appearance of redness and to immediately relive mild skin irritation. 

The Power Cream ($125) is the signature product in the line. It is the most potent defense against the signs of aging skin and delivers the greatest concentration of active ingredients to hydrate, protect, and prevent further damage from sun and exposure. My moisturizer is the most important part of my skincare regimen that I never do without, and this one has done an amazing job of getting me through the summer without feeling too thick or creamy. 

I definitely prefer this light and gentle Eye Serum ($75) over some of the eye creams I've been using which feel too heavy, especially in warm weather. The advanced formula combines Perfect 9 Complex with light diffusing microspheres and moisture rich hyaluronic acid to improve crow's feet lines and skin texture. 

The main ingredient in every MLA Skincare product is Perfect 9 Complex, a proprietary formulation of 9 highly effective ingredients, including anti-aging peptides and antioxidants, plus botanicals and conditioners.  

So far I am extremely happy with the entire MLA Skincare line and using the products together. The product feels like it really gets absorbed into my skin and my skin has managed to feel balanced and hydrated throughout the summer. I don't have sensitive skin or usually get any irritations but when I'm at work I either get one or two hives on my face or neck. Whether I'm allergic to something in the office or just plain stressed out, I've noticed that ever since I've started using the MLA Skincare line I haven't been dealing with any skin irritations, so I'd like to think it's really been helping me.

Summer Beach Beauty Essentials

Last week, I enjoyed an amazing getaway vacation to Mexico, soaking up the sun at Plays de los Muertos in Sayulita. Here's a look at the summer beauty essentials I took with me to the beach! 

1) At the top of my list is La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Melt-In Sunscreen Milk that I used for the face and body. This fast absorbing, non-greasy sunscreen provides SPF 60 with Cell-Ox Shield antioxidant technology and advanced UVA/UVB protection. No burning or peeling with this on in 90+ degrees weather in the hot sun and humidity!

2) Another sunscreen favorite is La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Tinted Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid for body, providing SPF 60 with  Cell-Ox Shield and universal tint technology. It has a 100% mineral formula and provides an instant, natural glow with sheer blendable coverage in an ultra-light texture. It remains water-resistant for 40 minutes. 

3) Coppertone SPORT Stick provides SPF 55 with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and is water-resistant for 80 minutes. It's great for spot protection for exposed areas such as ears, nose and face. 

4) Coppertone SPORT Lip Balm with SPF 30 has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and keeps my lips soft and smooth. It is water resistant for 80 minutes. 

5) Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss gives my lips an incredible shine without the stickiness. It's soft and moisturizing and I love the Guava shade. 

6) Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels with Hexapeptide Technology help firm, soothe, tone, de-puff and reduce premature wrinkling in just ten minutes. These single-use disposable gels are easy to remove and apply under the eye. They are naturally cooling, but I love to refrigerate them for an extra cooling effect. Comes in a pack of 8. 

7) Evian Mineral Water Spray is a great way to revitalize and freshen up your skin, especially when it's humid out. It can also remove perspiration or ocean salt. I also love to keep this spray refrigerated.

For earlier or later in the day when the sun is less strong, I prefer to use Nature's Gate Face Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Sunscreen, which is non-greasy and lightweight and Mineral Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen, with a dry finish. Both sunscreens are water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
