Alexander Jagger Fall 2011

Last month I attended the Alexander Jagger Fall 2011 preview. Alexander Jagger is a better department store brand and division of Salt Works, with pieces affordably priced from $50-$180. Other brands under Salt Works umbrella include Salt Works premium denim line, contemporary line Charlie 5.0 and missy better sweater and knits line One7Six.

I don't think you can ever have too much denim in your wardrobe, especially if you are like me and lucky enough to be able to wear denim to work everyday. Alexander Jagger has denim to fit everyone, whether you are looking for a skinny ankle, skinny, curvy boot, straight leg or flare jean.

Some of my favorite pieces are definitely the leather vest, silk charmeuse cascading sleeve blouse, leather pants with ponte inset, and heavy silk peasant blouse. The leather pieces are so super soft and smooth like butter!

You can expect to find jeans from $79.50-$99.50, knits $49.50-$79.50, shirts $69.50-$99.50, jackets $149.50-$199.50, dresses $99.50-$139.50 and sweaters $79.50-$99.50.

I can't help but mention what a great time we all had at the preview and show you what an amazing view Salt Works has at their office! We wanted to hang out there all night! A big thank you to Gretchen and the rest of the Alexander Jagger team for hosting us!

Simon Pérèle Invisi'bulles Launch

On February 22nd, I attended Simon Pérèle's launch of Invisi'bulles at The Bubble Lounge. The "better than nude" Invisi'bulles collection introduces super seamless, weightless panties available in 4 silhouettes - thong ($20), bikini ($24), boyshort ($26) and control brief ($28) and in nude, white and black colors.

The Invisi'bulles collection is inspired by bubbles ("bulles" in French). These panties are made of light-as-air microfiber with stitch-free bonding to create that invisible look, and seamless edging for a flawless fit that stays in place. The Invisi'bulles collection is available at select stores and online at the simoneperele.com.

Ivana Helsinki Fall 2011

Backstage at Ivana Helsinki Fall 2011, all I had to do was glance at the beehive hairstyles and automatically flashed back to the 60's. The makeup was all about dramatic eyes with a ton of black eyeliner and shadow.

Edward Tricomi and his team worked their magic on the beehive hair. There was definitely a ton of hairspraying going on and slicking hair into place.

Checkout this clip of Edward Tricomi working his magic on the beehive hairstyle.

A throwback to the 60's was in full swing at the Ivana Helsinki runway show. I feel like I've been seeing the 60's inspiration everywhere but it was really prominent with rich velvet, feather prints, babydoll dresses and patchwork knee high boots.

Diesel Black Gold Fall 2011

Diesel Black Gold Fall 2011 rocked the runway with leather, snakeskin prints, lace-up details, military-inspired jackets and chunky knits. The dark palette includes a mix of plum red, olive, brown and black. Layering, texture and fit (especially the form-fitting leather) made for an edgy, chic collection.

Rachel Antonoff Autumn/Winter 2011

Rachel Antonoff's Autumn/Winter 2011 Presentation took place at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School Gymnasium for "The Dance". The setup reminded me of the high school prom theme photo shoot that took place in 13 Going on 30, complete with balloons, decorations and corsages. There was even a live performance by The Like.

The collection is fun, youthful and schoolgirl playful with trombone print and plaid mini dresses in chiffon and silks. The tights have cute cat or heart designs at the knee. Saddle shoes, loafers and flats are from the Bass Loves Rachel Antononoff shoe collection.
