The Rent the Runway sample sale is back! If you plan on going, be sure to battle the crowds! I got a sneak peek at the sale last night, and saw items were priced below $20! It's been awhile since I shopped this sale, and for the first time I spotted blouses and jackets. It seemed like there were a lot of merchandise from older seasons, in lots of bright and bold colors. There were certain dresses I was hoping to see find there but didn't see them in my size. 

If you make it to the sale, be sure to check for damages and note that you can only bring up to 10 items into the fitting room with you! Since they were getting ready to close, I literally had 15 minutes to try on 8 dresses in the fitting room. I ended up just getting the Parker Black Kamal Romper ($298 retail) for $32.38! There was a Sachin & Babi dress I wanted but I noticed it was slightly damaged on the back. I may just go back the last day of the sale. There were also a selection of handbags, jewelry, and Balenciaga sunglasses.

Rent the Runway Sample Sale

The Rent the Runway Sample Sale started today! Check out the dresses I got at the sale at amazing prices! This sample sale came around at the right time, since I needed a dress for the #Beauty20 Awards tomorrow night. This Robert Rodriguez Cap Sleeve Mini was the perfect choice, especially since I don't even have to tailor it. 

Since the racks at the sample sale are by size, it was so much easier for me to sift through the 0/XS racks and just grab a dozen dresses to try on. I definitely recommend stopping by this sale. In my opinion, pricing is cheaper than it has been in the past. You can easily find dresses priced under $100 and as low as $50.

Updated: Rent the Runway Sample Sale

So I checked out the Rent the Runway Sample Sale today around 1pm, and it was a zoo! The craziest I've ever seen it. Shoppers were polite but it was way to crowded not to get poked by passing hangers or elbows. The dressing room line even extended from the back all the way to the front of the store. Definitely not a good idea to come to this sale during your lunch break. I've been going to this sample sale since Rent the Runway starting holding it seasons ago. This was the worst assortment I've seen, unless what I usually get was all long gone. No Helmut Lang or Yumi Kim dresses for me to snatch up, and instead of seeing most dresses under $100 last season, most seemed to be over $100. 

There was only one dress I really liked, the Parker Blanche Sheath ($425), which was on the sale for $108. It wasn't worth it to me considering the zipper was broken. I wasn't going to stand in the dressing room line to just try on one dress, so a few of us started a little 'changing nook' over by the XS racks racks. One shopper helped me get out of the Parker dress when the zipper got stuck. 

Maybe it will calm down later in the week but by then all the dresses will be picked over. I usually end up finding different dresses when I come back multiple days during the sale, but with the craziness I experienced today, I may opt to not come back and give my wallet a rest from sample sales this week. 

I think it's time for Rent the Runway to create a Friends & Family sale day. This was one of my favorite sales but now that everyone knows about it, be prepared for long lines, pushing your way through, and a disappointing selection as dresses quickly move off the racks and out the door.

Rent the Runway Sample Sale

The Rent the Runway Sample Sale just started today, and even though it is chaotic to shop through, it's well worth it. I stopped by this afternoon and it was incredibly crowded. Since you are only allowed to bring 5 pieces at a time into the fitting room, people were just trying on dresses out in the open in every corner and alongside the racks. Half of the dresses were either on the floor or being returned from the fitting room.  I'll definitely going to stop by the sale again, since I usually come across dresses I didn't see the first time around. One thing I did notice is that pricing seems to be lower than their previous sales. Many of the dresses I spotted were under $100, even gowns, which they had a ton of! 

Even though I didn't end up getting it, I tried on the Diane Von Furstenberg Lemon Kairi Dress for $27 (retails for $345). I ended up just getting the Helmut Lang Rogue Dress for $70 (originally retails for $445). I also picked up a Sachin + Babi red skinny belt from the accessories bin for $10. This time around there was a larger selection of jewelry, and clutch bags from Kate Spade, Diane Von Furstenberg and Lauren Merkin.

Rent the Runway Sample Sale Recap - Day 1

So I headed over to the first day of the Rent the Runway Sample Sale around 1:30pm, and was surprised that there weren't a lot of people there. There were racks and racks of size XS/0 (they have tons of racks in other sizes too), and by the time I got through it all I had a dozen dresses to try on. You are only allowed to bring 5 items at a time into the fitting room, and lucky for me there was no fitting room line or else I would have to stand in it again. There was a 'hold' rack where you could place items you needed to try on or set aside ones that you were getting. So guess what happens? I'm trying on my last two dresses and they decide to put my other dresses back on the racks! I had to spend an additional 20 minutes locating these pieces! So if you have more than 5 items, beware of setting them down! Lucky for me I found them all. Here's what I got:

Rent the Runway Sample Sale Starts October 1st

This is one sample sale you don't want to miss, and one of my favorites! Check out some of the pieces I found at last season's Rent the Runway sample sale. I had gone back to the sale a few times, also snagging up two Doo Ri gowns - one originally $2,500 that I got for $200 and another one that retailed for $1500 that I got for $80!
