NYDJ Spring 2012

NYDJ (Not Your Daughters Jeans) Spring 2012 is full of colored denim, in hues ranging from clover green and pomegranate to purple lily. The newest arrivals include the Alisha skinny ($104) jean and Emma pencil skirt ($89), which I'm happy to say both come in a size 0P!

Instead of going with colored denim, I went with the Alisha skinny jean in the grey lizard print ($110), which I wore the other day with a cobalt blue knit top and matching wedge shoes. The jean actually fit more like a boyfriend jean on me, with a super comfy fit.

Look out for some crop denim styles with rhinestone detail at the hem

NYDJ Fall/Holiday 2011 Blogger Preview

The only way to truly find a great pair of jeans is to try on a few pairs, while keeping in mind what type of fit, fabric and wash you are looking for.

During the NYDJ (Not Your Daughters Jeans) Fall/Holiday 2011 Blogger Preview, I was able to try on some of the new fall styles, from brightly colored denim to 70’s inspired wide legs. I thought the Janice Legging in Super Stretch Denim - Marine was actually going to be the best fit for me, but it actually fit too loose throughout the leg and so did the Alisha Skinny in Fine Line Twill - Crimson Red. I actually ended up choosing the Faye Wide Leg - Robertson in size 0. I'm glad I chose this one because I currently don't have a wide leg jean and it's always good to have a variety of jean silhouettes in your wardrobe.

NYDJ carries petite jeans, but this particular jean was only available in a 33" inseam. This super soft, stretch jean is lightweight and really elongates the leg. Aside from having to get the jeans hemmed, the fit was perfect everywhere else, including the waist (sits at the natural waist instead of being low rise) and derriere. If you are petite, I definitely recommend the wide leg. Slip on a pair of heels with these jeans and you'll feel taller and slimmer!
