NYX Cosmetics Store Opening at Westfield Garden State Plaza

On Friday, September 23rd, I got a sneak preview of the new NYX Professional Makeup store at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, located on level two, right across from Forever 21 in the AMC wing. For the grand opening weekend, the first 250 customers in line on 9/23 and 9/24 received a free, limited edition NYX makeup bag, with a chance to win a $100 shopping spree, and a free NYX mini train case with the purchase of $75 or more. The first 200 in line on Saturday enjoyed a free meet & greet with top beauty YouTube and Instagram star Jordan Hanz.

The store is equipped with an interactive beauty bar, including beauty vlogger how-to videos. The beauty bar highlights trends and topics that are updated every month. This month the focus is on The Perfect Brow, Teal & Violet Art Liner, Highlight & Contour, Color Correcting, Baking Method, and Instant Glow. At the store, there's also a digital screen that allows you to scan any product and view an image carousel of people who have tagged #nyxcosmetics wearing their NYX product, so you can see what the product/shade looks like on. There's also a NYX Professional Makeup Geofilter on Snapchat. The What's New, Fan Faves and Grab & Go areas make it easy to shop.

This store launch makes it the sixth NYX store on the East Coast and the 17th NYX store in the US. Be on the lookout for more NYX store openings and check out their upcoming events.

Betsy Elisa Beauty Bar at NYFW 2017

To kick off the first day of fashion week on September 8th, I got glammed up at the Betsy Elisa Beauty Bar at The Lofts at Prince at 177 Prince Street. I was heading over to the Saks x Vogue party downtown, for the grand opening of Saks Fifth Avenue. To get ready for the party, Marissa did a amazing job on my makeup, including a bronze smokey eye! Mia effortlessly curled my hair, transforming from straight to soft waves. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup that evening. This is my second time that I was styled by the Betsy Elisa team during fashion week, the first was at their beauty bar in 2014.

Media and VIP guests who got glammed up at the beauty bar received a swag bag filled with goodies from Mario Badescu, Click n Curl, Got2be, Rapidlash, Chi Hair Care and Face Atelier.

Thank you again to Betsy Elisa for hosting another wonderful beauty bar!

Jeans For Refugees by Johny Dar at NYFW

Jeans For Refugees by Johny Dar at Skylight at Moynihan Station at New York Fashion Week included a live performance by Polly A throughout the runway show. All the jeans featured on the runway have been donated by celebrities and  hand-painted by artist Johny Dar. Each pair of jeans is an exclusive piece of wearable art, embellished with a special 3D paint and reflect the individual personality of each donor.

Anna Wintour, Benicio del Toro, Candice Swanepoel, Karlie Kloss, Kate Moss, Nicholas Hoult, Rachel McAdams, Usher and Victoria Beckham were among the celebrities who donated a pair of jeans.

'Jeans For Refugees' is a Johny Dar project and artistic fundraising initiative dedicated to helping refugees from around the world. Each piece is being auctioned online at catawiki.com/jeansforrefugees, with proceeds being donated to the International Rescue Committee.
