Target Wonderland Pop-Up in NYC

On Monday, December 7th, I attended the Target Wonderland launch party in the Meatpacking neighborhood, at 70 10th Avenue & West 15th Street. The 16,000-square foot pop-up is part-store, part-holiday playground.

The pop-up features a jumbo Etch-a-Sketch, a Christmas tree made from 320 green foam Hulk hands, the S.S. Free Shipping LEGO pirate ship spotted in Target's holiday commercials, and games involving Star Wars' Millennium Falcon and BB-8.

Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigan, Kristen Bell and Malin Ackerman were among the celebrities in attendance. During the party, guests enjoyed milk chocolate coated rice crispy trees, spiked apple cider, hot chocolate bar with Baileys and Kahlua and glittery flash tattoos. Guests also posed with Target's mascot, Bullseye, got their photo taken at the Tsum Tsum photo booth and customized their own instant ornaments.

Upon entering the space, guests receive a custom lanyard and digital Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) key for scanning the mini bullseye tag on any displayed items that catch their eye. The scanned items are added to a digital shopping list, in which guests can check out and purchase at the end of their adventure.

Target Wonderland is free and open to the public until December 22nd with the following hours:
  • Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm.
  • Sunday, 10am to 6pm

It's definitely worth checking out and fun for the whole family!
