Douglas Hannant "Pink" Spring 2012 Collection

Douglas Hannant’s new diffusion line, Pink, offers more whimsy at a more affordable price tag. The line stays true to the socialite couturier’s feminine designs and Upper East Side chic but have less of a “ladies that lunch” feel. Instead, the looks have more of a jet set, carefree femininity that will appeal to a wider audience. The event was held at The Hudson Hotel and featured a set by the Brooklyn based band, The Vandelles, whose surf-rock sound set the perfect mood for the bohemian inspired presentation. The RTW Spring 2012 collection features tailored cropped jackets, tiered skirts and dresses, lace shorts, and 1960s inspired frocks. Pops of the season’s hottest hues, like blood orange, bold fuchsia, and baby blues are accented by delicate gold threading, and neutral details.

Some of our favorites included a vibrant orange mini dress with delicate straps and a sweet, dégagé ruffle on the left side.

Hannant’s playful take on the season’s coveted geometric patterns can also be seen in his structured pantsuits, as well as a tailored shirtdress.

The fashions were accessorized with bold metallic cuffs and chunky, stacked link necklaces in varied white tones.

The model’s shoes featured rope ties that complimented their up-dos, which were created with cloth ties and crafted into romantic, floral inspired buns.

Strong pink eye shadow with lavender undertones was paired with lighter shades of pink for the lip color, while a melon pink adorned all of the model’s nails.
