Levi's® 'Wear What Fits' Event in Bryant Park

On Friday, August 27th, Levi's® held a "Wear What Fits' event in Bryant Park, giving away 1,000 pairs of their new Levi's® CURVE ID jeans, to attendees who donated any item for Goodwill.

There were a ton of activities going on, but my first stop was to meet celebrity style guide Bobbie Thomas. She was super sweet and down-to-earth - I'm glad I got to sit down and chat with her! I also got a great interview with her and what her thoughts were on Levi's® new fit system.

Next I was taken over to one of the CURVE ID fit specialists for my fit consultation, and was told my fit is a Slight Curve. I then chose the Slight Curve Skinny Boot in the Blue Ice wash. Once you chose your jean you were able to put them on and pose it up in a photo shoot. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to do that!

Attendees were able to get a graffiti portrait, screen printed t-shirt and grab lunch.

There were several t-shirt designs to choose from - I went with the peacock at the front and "ALL ASSES WERE NOT CREATED EQUAL' on the back.

Janelle Monáe performed but I had to leave before she took the stage!

Betsey Johnson & Tweezerman Launch Celebration

On Tuesday, August 24th, Betsey Johnson & Tweezerman celebrated the launch of the limited edition Betsey Johnson Designer Series at the Soho store on Wooster Street.

Betsey Johnson reprises Tweezerman's Designer Series Slant® Tweezer Collection with graphic and iconic prints. The first designer series was in 2009 with international fashion designer Agatha Ruiz De la Prada.

The new Betsey Johnson Designer Series truly captures her girly, spunky, rock n' roll spirit with three prints: white with graphic pink Betsey Bud (rose), neon pink with white Betsey Bones (skulls) and black with pink Betsey Babe (Marilyn). The skulls is my favorite!

Tweezerman tweezers are hand filed at a 25-degree slant - the ergonomic angle provides more surface area, making for easier hair removal. The Betsey Johnson Designer Series tweezers retail for $25.00 each, available at Sephora,
sephora.com, Betsey Johnson stores and betseyjohnson.com as of September 1st.

The launch party was fun-filled, with sweets galore including miniature stuffed cupcakes from Baked by Melissa, cocktails and of course complimentary brow shaping! Betsey was definitely the life of the party, enjoying the company of all her guests. I definitely need some of her energy!

Introducing the body scrub by sara happ®

On August 5th I headed over to The Plaza Beauty to check out the launch of the body scrub by sara happ®.

Sara is known for
the lip scrub by sara happ® which comes in popular flavors brown sugar, cinnamon sugar, almond creme, peppermint, cocoa and her number one selling flavor vanilla bean. In 2008 Sara then launched the lip slip®: one luxe lip balm, which became known as the richest, glossiest, most luxurious lip balm on the market.

Now she has taken it a step further in launching the body scrub by sara happ®: vanilla bean. Three years in the making, the body scrub is designed to look, feel and work unlike any other, using gigantic sugar crystals in a custom blend of kukui and macadamia nut oils, that, get this: rinse away clean.

"IT'S SILKY BUT NOT GREASY, HYDRATING BUT NOT OILY. YOU GET THE SAME RESULTS THAT YOU DO WITH THE LIP SCRUB, BUT NOW IT'S LITERALLY SOFTNESS FROM HEAD TO TOE. WITH ZERO LEFT BEHIND. HEAVEN."

I find this body scrub truly unique. This just went to the top of my list as the best body scrub of all time and my #1 recommended gift item for this holiday season. I've never tried the lip scrub® or the lip slip® but now I'm going to have to get my hands on them to try them out!

The scrub has a caviar-like appearance and are the largest sugar crystals I have ever seen! Given the size of the sugar crystals, I thought it would be really rough and sticky once applied, but it was so soft, non-sticky and makes your skin feel soft and smooth, and I love that vanilla bean scent!

Okay, I have a feeling I am going to go through this jar really fast! Sara's products are a cult favorite from Tokyo to Copenhagen and now my favorite of body scrubs!

The body scrub by sara happ® is available in a 10 oz. jar, wrapped in Sara's signature "nightstand worthy" gift box and bow, and retails for $46. Go to sarahapp.com to learn more and find out where Sara's products are available. If you are in NYC, you can find them at The Plaza Beauty!

Thank you Sara for a truly amazing product!

GRAM™ Skincare Launch

Last month I attended the launch of GRAM™ Skincare's new line of products, utilizing the hottest advancement in skincare- apple stem cell technology. The launch was held at Dos Caminos (Midtown), as guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, including my favorite at Dos Caminos - the guacamole!

GRAM™ Skincare is a professional apothecary skincare line that focuses on the treatment of skin inflammation. Harnessing the power of a unique combination of certified organic, natural and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, cutting edge technology and a hands-on approach to formulating, Dr. Gram is committed to delivering highly effective gentle skincare. It is the perfect prescription for your skin.

I got there at the tail end of the event, but I did get there in time to meet Dr. Gram (super-friendly and sweet!) as he took me through the product line. Two of GRAM™ Skincare's most popular products are the eye rescue, which works to diminish dark circles, puffiness and discoloration and the daily moisturizer. Some new products that are coming soon include the clarifying moisturizer, daily moisturizer with SPF, men's line, anti-aging regimen, and baby skin care.

I was also able to have my personalized skincare analysis done, to determine which products are the best for me to use. I recently received my results and personalized skincare products to try out, along with the daily cleaner/clarifying cleanser/daily scrub pack that I received at the launch.

Here was my results of my skincare analysis:
Dr. Gram noticed that t-zone is oily, as is typical and there are some skintexture issues in this area. He also spotted inflammation of the forehead and rightcheek, as well as some sun damage around mouth and lips. Skin is thin and dehydratedaround the forehead, cheeks and nose, although the eye tissue is in great shape.

I've constantly been told I need to keep myself hydrated, exfoliate on a regular basis and be sure to incorporate SPF into my regimen. So I'm not surprised with my results.

I was given the SKIN 1 regimen, powerful yet mild. Dr. Gram's gentle and effective Nutra-Vit Complex is composed of only the purest and most essential pharmaceutical grade ingredients. In every Skin 1 product, Dr. Gram pairs this signature combination with natural herbal blends to cleanse, revitalize and protect skin.

My SKIN 1 products I am currently using include the
clarifying mask (use once a week), clarifying cleanser, daily scrub and daily moisturizer. I just started using the products so I look forward to seeing the results soon and improving on my skin issues. Thank you Dr. Gram!

Lands' End Canvas Fall/Winter 2010

I never thought of Lands' End as my style, but I really did see some wearable pieces in the Lands' End Canvas Fall/Winter collection. The Lands' End Canvas collection embodies classic American style with a twist. The palette is made up of indigo blues and accents of red and pink, grounded in khaki and denim.

Key pieces that are great for layering include the 2x2 rib tank, poplin shirt and the fine gauge v-neck - and these pieces come in XXS!

Denim comes in several fit and wash options with a focus on the pencil jean this season. I am all about the dark wash so I am definitely liking the rinsed blue indigo and I need at least one gray was in my wardrobe.

I love this canvas bag with the thick strap!

Lands' End Canvas has a great black plaid newspaper bag and different colored newspaper totes, with a long strap to wear over-the-shoulder.

Check out these chunky knit pillows and throws from Lands' End Home. They look pretty cozy comfortable and stylish. They also carry cashmere blend throws.

Also great for the home are these open or zip top canvas totes. 24 oz. cotton canvas does not mildew and has double needle stitching for strength. These totes have the ability to stand up without tipping over. So go ahead - fill them with towels, throws or magazines. They are great for storing things around the home!

Lands' End FlightWise™ Collection

A few months ago I had previewed the Lands' End FlightWise™ Luggage Collection, which is comprised of six pieces, all meeting airline carry-on requirements. The pieces are lightweight, made with durable 600-denier ripstop fabric, available in five stylish colors - black, dark sapphire, chili pepper red, canyon orange and arctic gray.

The collection features a 22" wheeled upright ($169.50), carry-on duffel ($69.50), carry-on wheeled duffel ($129.50), soft sided bag ($79.50), trip tote($59.50) and backpack ($79.50). Each piece comes with a handy travel kit - a clear zipper bag with reusable, TSA approved plastic travel containers.

I was excited to receive my chili pepper red carry-on duffel last week, monogrammed with my initials. There's a zipper around the base that allows the bag to expand (which is great because I tend to overpack!). When I fly I tend to want to take my wheeled upright and laptop bag with me, but for weekend or road trips, I prefer to take a duffel. So I can't wait to use my new duffel on my next trip!
